With this De'Longhi machine--every single morning I drink my one cup of coffee (double espresso setting with frothed half & half/milk combo and a little bit of hot water) and I am in HEAVEN. I know it may sound weird or silly, but I sit in the quiet of the early morning with my cup of coffee and it is just a wonderful way to start the day. I know the machine may be a bit pricey, but it is worth every penny to me. I have not had one single issue with the machine--I remove and clean the grinder regularly (this takes maybe 30 seconds). I descale when required, I change the filter as well. After every use of the frother, I remove the outer nozzle, rinse it with water and then shoot out extra steam to clean the inside of the frother nozzle. This takes about 15 seconds. Acrylamide is a by-product of the coffee bean roasting process, so any coffee that contains roasted beans, including instant coffee, will contain small amounts of this chemical. Lab animals given 1000 to 100,000 times more a day developed cancer. No kidding! As a result the state of California made it law for manufacturers of products related to roasted beans must provide the P65 Warning. Studies also showed the human body breaks down the small amount of AcryIamide in coffee. Bottom line enjoy your JAVA! I just suggest not drinking 1000 or more cups of coffee a day. :) **Q: If the water filter is not changed after 2 months does the machine stop making coffee? or one has the option not to change the filter?** A: We have been running our machine for 3 years and have never used the filter and it works perfectly every day. There is a light that goes on that suggests you descale your unit - which is always a process. We haven't done it for over a year (and a half) and it still works. Probably a good idea to do it periodically because calcium can build up in the narrow passageways and could stop your flow. Most definitely. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Easy creamy and smooth coffee maker *by L***I on February 9, 2025* It took me a long time to pull the trigger on this hefty purchase and because there was no indication that it was ok to use with regular beans I was hesitant. My sister has one in Europe that I loved and she uses drip German beans and assured me that I can use regular drip beans. My husband was not convinced. We nervously bought it(no returns) and I have to report that this machine makes the creamiest, smoothest, non bitter coffee ever. The coffee is that good. I use drip beans from Canada which also makes a difference. The machine was so easy to set up and I love how you fill the bean reservoir once a week and the coffee grinds into a reservoir that does not need daily emptying. It also self cleanse everyday after use. It is a big machine so needs a designated space on your counter but it’s a handsomely designed piece. I also love the little side arm frother that actually works on oat milk.
