Brew Tapper Triple Scale Hydrometer for Beer, Wine, Mead & Kombucha - Specific Gravity ABV Tester

This hydrometer is easier to read, and more stable than my last one, which suffered an unfortunate demise as I clutched it between tense fingers over a sink full of cleaned bottles on my first scary bottling day. Yep, I had to clean all the bottles again ....Anyway, so I delayed getting a new hydrometer as I could not find one that I liked the price of, and was UNBREAKABLE ... however, using only a refractometer is not for comfortable for me ... in fact, I like to use both (guess-averaging the error, I figure I'm in the ballpark so good enough). Finally ordered this hydrometer, and it came in a nice plastic case that keeps it secure and unbroken (although it would break if I pinch, drop, or stir must with it, etc ... ) Also included was a handy Specific Gravity/Brix/Potential alcohol scale, which is tacked to the bulletin board in my basement brewery/winery/meadery (what do you call a combined place like that anyway).One thing I also like about this hydrometer, (not forgetting to mention that it says my well water is SG 0.00 so no cal or offset needed) is that it seems to avoid sticking to the sides of my graduated cylinder better than the old one ... not sure really WHY, but it just seems to be more cooperative.I'd buy it again, but sure hope I don't have to. I might buy another to keep around as a spare.

This hydrometer has colored sections that correspond to cider, table wine, dessert wine, etc... ranges of gravity/BRIX, this is great for ballparking where your sugar content is without having to go back to your recipe book and makes your attenuation easier to visualize. I highly suggest getting a borosilicate graduated cylinder and not plastic as most of the plastic GCs are opaque for some weird reason and it makes taking readings more of a hassle.

Great little Brew Tapper Triple Scale Hydrometer... we used one that was much harder to read. This one works great. It is easy to read and the case it comes in is solid.... this is a very good thing as the glass is very thin. If you handle with care this is a great tool. Just be careful. With that in mind, I still recommend it but wish it was a bit thicker glass. Happy brewing

This device works really well. I use it with a Scienceware 250mL graduated cylinder (part#284560000), which uses a little over half a bottle of beer; if you're brewing small batches, you might try the next smaller cylinder to see whether it will fit the Brew Tapper hydrometer without using up too much brew.

Way too big for small batch or maybe one needs a specific graduated cylinder for measurement, of which i have none.Way too long in length for use in 1Gal container

Easy to use, works well, great quality. My only criticism is that its a bit hard to read, but I can't blame the hydrometer for my my bad eyes. Great product.

This is a standard brewing hydrometer, but I think it is better quality than the others I've had that broke too easily. This brand is well packaged and can handle the gentle bumps that often occur on a crowded brew bench.

This little tool is easy to use and simple to read. the instructions included with it made it easy to understand within the first use, which only took a few moments to figure out. It's also compact and lightweight, yet sturdy, which I was not expecting. Perfect for testing the strength of my mead. They came quickly, intact & as described. Thank you for such a great product and service!

Please don't buy this product.Gupta optical seller is a fraud and cheater.I received a broken cheap quality product.It's not a triple scale hydrometer. Three separate product.we can't take even specific gravity.I registered a complaint..Till now I'm not received any replacement product.It's a great disappoint.If any one searching for good hydrometer go toARISHTAM ,it a face book shop located in Bangalore you will get a good quality hydrometer you have to pay only 600Rs.I'm promissing you won't lose your money.

Got it today morning - a big DISAPPOINTMENT!!!The product Image shown and Description entered above never matches the actual delivery.It was a SG Hydrometer, a Brix Hydrometer and a Thermometer - 3 separate items.Then what do you mean by Brew Tapper Triple Scale Hydrometer? - its clearly misleading and exploiting!I already own a Kilner Hydrometer. Thought Triple Scale would be much beneficial but it turned out to be a disappointment!Had initiated return process let's see.

DO NOT BUY FROM GUPTA OPTICS !! I REPEAT DO NO BUY !As you can see the product here listed as “tripple scale hydrometer” that means (as the photo speaks too) that all three scales are in 1 hydrometer but this is not what you get ! You will get 3 different hydrometers and that too cheapest quality ones which you can find in any scientific equipment shop in your city for 100 - 200 bucks each.
