Great cage system for a minimalist approach.
Love these as a minimalist option for front rack system. I used them on a 8 day bike trip across Washington state. I secured my tent, rain cover for tent, tent footprint, sleeping bag and two towels that were stuffed into sacks on them. Since I didn't have bolts to secure them onto my fork, I ended up using old tire tubes and pipe clamps to get them on there. I was riding on everything from smooth road to middle of nowhere country roads and these didn't move and help up very well.

Better than expected.
I wanted to be able to carry a Yeti Rambler bottle on my bike, but standard cages are obviously not big enough. After looking at reviews of several oversized cargo cages, I settled on the Blackburn for a couple of reasons: 1) price; the Outpost Cargo cage was significantly cheaper than other cages. And 2) it seemed the best option for oversized water bottles since it has the silicone straps. My biggest concern was installing this on the frame between my legs; it appears most people install these on forks so I was worried that a Yeti Rambler would be in the way of my legs. This was not a problem at all. In fact, I can even fit a stainless steel growler without any issues. (YMMV - I'm 6' tall and rather wide in the hips, so this could be an issue for skinner riders). The Yeti Rambler fit in perfectly. The growler fits perfectly as well, though I had to loop the straps through the handles for a more secure fitCan't wait for the next pub crawl now.

Yes! Get it!!!
I was searching for a bottle cage to hold my 1L Nalgene bottle, this one works perfectly. Just for kicks I tried strapping my Nalgene and JetBoil to it, both fit (see my pic)!!! The straps are rubberized on the contact side so things don't slip around once they're strapped down. The cage bolted down fine to the standard water bottle mounts on my bike, I did add a couple of washers to hold it down more securely. Get it, works awesome.

Not bad, securements are a little
I have a gigantic AVEX 1.9 L/64 oz Growler that I wanted to mount to a bicycle's front fork. It works — and it works well — but there are limitations that I'll discuss a little further down.SECUREMENT: The straps have a coating of what seems to be a rubber or silicone on the backside, allowing for superb adhesion to water bottles and also to the buckle. These straps work very well at >1 kg load, like a 1 liter water bottle. They're functional up to a 3 kg load, but you'll need to stop every hour or so to re-tighten the straps. If your water bottle is made of metal, I highly recommend using Silicone Self Fusing Tape to wrap the contact points on the cage. Because the straps stretch and flex slightly, this will cause wear marks to develop on your water bottle. Silicone tape solves this issue by softening the contact point and also adding a bit of friction.MOUNTING: Properly torqued screws will suffice for the lighter loads (>1kg) that I mentioned, but for heavier loads you're going to want to use a hose clamp to reinforce the connection. Borrowing from another reviewer here (thank you, Amazon Customer), I used a chopped up tube as padding to protect my paint job.

The Blackburn Outpost Cargo Bottle Cage worked awesome on my first bikepacking trip to Sedona
The Blackburn Outpost Cargo Bottle Cage worked awesome on my first bikepacking trip to Sedona, AZ. I mounted it down on the left side of my front fork and it held my blow up mat that I put under my sleeping bag. would buy or refer this item as its well made and worked great.

good cage, good straps
this is an excellent cage for attaching just about anything.I did a test-run with two attached to the fork-bosses of my bike-packing rig; on one side i had a jet-boil stove and fuel, on the other i had 32oz of water in a nalgene. both fit just fine, and with the included straps there was no concerns with items slipping or coming loose. the backs of the straps are rubberized to give a no-slip grip, but they're not stretchy, so get them good and tight.i also test-fit: a down sleeping bag, a tent (without the poles), and a dry-bag full of clothes. all fit fine.the only issue is what to do with the extra length of straps so they don't get caught in the spokes. i tied them around the cage itself, but i don't know how well that will hold up over many, many miles. might be something to check every so often while on long rides. for this reason alone i would give 4 and 1/2 stars if i could. otherwise 5 stars all around.i would recommend to anyone interested in bike-packing.on a side note, if i could make a recommendation to the company? sell just the straps. they would be good on their own for attaching all manner of goodies to the frame.

I use mine every day i ride my bike.
I use mine with a large bottle sleeve. Works for drinks or a stache pocket. Great quality

I feel it should be longer in length to fully secure a dry bag. I also think it should have 3 holes to accomodate Surly models.
For me this was just okay. I paired it with the Summit Big River Dry bag and the bag would kind of shuffle a bit when riding. I just feel this needs to be longer to support and fully secure a full dry bag. I did have heavier items in the dry bag however, not just clothes so I wonder if maybe that was the issue. I also didn't like that it didn't fully utilize the 3 mounting points on the Surly, only two. So I'm thinking the Salsa cage is probably the better bet. Really love Blackburn's stuff though...big fan of their lights and their outpost bags, having owned the Blackburn flea and the outpost frame bag they sell. And this is still a quality item just doesn't work for me.

Blackburn Cargo Cage.
Great quality cage, I bought 2 of these to replace my bottle holders on my bike, I can now use these brackets for holding my tent/sleeping bag for overnight trips....Good quality straps that are a decent length too...Saves me messing about fitting a Pannier Rack on my mountain bike or having to wear a large rucksack while cycling..

Very well made and sturdy.
I was going to buy the salsa anything set up but couldn’t justify the price for plastic vs alloy. Im going to void the warranty and drill the third mounting hole but for the price and security it’s no biggy.

Die Halterung erfüllt also komplett ihren Zweck.
