ESV Study Bible (Black, Indexed) Leather Bound – March 30, 2014

Really nice high quality Bible. Love the gold with black, the real leather, and the notes are really nice. I would totally buy this Bible again for myself if needed, or as a gift, given that it is so nice. Definitely big, so not the best for carrying around, but personally I like a big Bible.

I’m doing the Bible Recap by TLC this year and this Bible along with TLC has helped me understand the Word so much better.

I was raised as an Episcopalian, their focus was on the book of commen prayer. I got saved 2 years ago and have been looking at different Bibles to learn what I have been missing.The ESV Study Bible makes reading the Bible so much easier and has a wealth of knowledge in all of the introductions to the different books and the foot notes. I have learned so much in a short time I look forward to the learning and loving the rest of my life.The thumb indexing is a huge help. The leather cover and binding are of great quality.As others of have mentioned the words of the Lord are not written in red. That would be the thing that is missing. The colored detailed maps and drawing and sketches are done really well.I love this Bible.It is a big book so it does weigh a lot. The Amazon Basics Large Carrying Case for GoPro works great as a book case. This is big enough for the 2.5 inch spine of the bible.

Great Bible in the accurate ESV translation. A huge multitude of additional study guide materials including charts, maps, footnotes. It also has a lot of introductory material to each chapter such as the expected dates of the writings and background info. The additional study guide material was written by a large team of theologians and Bible scholars so it has more thorough checks and is not just one individuals explanation or take on certain topics. The overall quality and leather is top notch as well.

I love this Bible. The print is easy to read and the explanations are very informative. I like the ESV version much better than other versions of the Bible. It is supposed to be the closest translation to the original manuscripts.

Love, love, love this Bible!I was looking for a Bible that was easier to understand than the King James version, but I didn't want to give up any of the true meaning in the translation of the word or have it dumb down.I did some research and decided on the ESV ... English Standard Version. They put a lot of thought in to not loosing any of the true meaning of the original language in the translation. And with the added benefit of the study notes they give explanations of the choice for the interpreted word if it does not translate into English.I also find the notes to be extremely helpful in understanding what is being said. King James, Hebrew, Koine Greek, and Aramaic are languages that I do not speak/read, but like in any culture people spoke differently than we do today. So, it really helps with understanding what God was trying to tell us, even today.If you are looking for a good Bible I recommend this one.The leather cover, book index, gold leafing make this a beautiful Bible as well.Joyful Reading :-)
