Great Buy ! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Issues with First Order; Replacement has been Great *by M***. on March 14, 2018* I've changed my review on this initial product. Prior to my purchase, I did a ton of research, and finally ordered this Greenworks 16 inch 40V cordless chainsaw. Since I really only end up needing the use of a chainsaw about once every year or two, I really didn't think I wanted to get a gas powered one, due to the need to drain the gas, maintain it, and deal with the annoying tendency for them to decide not to start easily. Once I received this product, I read the manual from front to back. I then followed all of the instructions to the letter. Having some work to do, I got all set up, put on my protective gear, and headed to the branches I needed to cut. This really wasn't even a tough job; it involved cutting up relatively smaller branches, with small diameters. I started the unit, and made 3 cuts. On the third cut, the chain fell off! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!!! And yes, I followed the instructions and made sure it was properly tightened... not too loose, and not too tight. I called the manufacturer's hotline, since the manual amazingly doesn't provide you with a schematic showing how to replace / reset the chain. AGAIN, ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!!! The person on the hotline sent me a video on youtube showing how you can fix it. I followed those instructions, but didn't feel 100% sure the chain was lining up... it just didn't seem right. Since this is a brand new product, and it was just too dangerous to find out it wasn't on right, I decided to return the and had a new one sent to me. I received the second one, did the same precautions to get it set up right, and then took it out to work on the various branches that were on the ground following our latest nor'easter. I have to say, this second time around was great! The saw performs perfectly, cutting through the various branches. There was no trouble with this chain falling off. The other thing I love about this product is how easily it starts up... no pulling on a cord over and over again as you do with a gas powered chainsaw. In addition, you can stop the product, place it down, adjust other branches, and then know it will start right back up again... again, unlike a gas powered chainsaw. And the product is so unbelievably quiet. While I did the work with a hearing protective headset, I got the feeling I really didn't need it; the product runs so much quieter than a gas chainsaw. And when you finish the job, you don't have that lingering smell of the exhaust either! I was really happy with this second try, and am very happy I gave it a second chance. In fact, I went ahead and ordered a Greenworks 24 inch trimmer, and a leaf blower. It's the best of both worlds: you can go cordless (compared to plug in devices), but not have to deal with the BS of gas powered tools (i.e., noise, exhaust, difficulty in starting, hassles of maintaining them, etc.).
