I was born in the 80's and have seen this many times before. Love it!

I remember this when it first came out - many many many years ago.If you are young at heart, silly and can laugh at the ridiculous, then you will love this zany over the top movie.Elvira - or Cassandra Peterson - the vamp with a big big heart is truly one of the best in the genre. Her comedic presence is outrageous as well as her 2 voluptuous assets. Like the Carry on Movies she extracts every morsel she can from the situations she gets into.The community pick-nick is hilarious; as is her making a meal for her co-star Bob played by Daniel Greener.The premise of the story line is basic - The horror-movie hostess turns a puritanical community on its ear when she arrives in town to claim her inheritance. Disliked at the start but wins popularity in the end, this film is full of quotes e.g. at a bowling alley asking for a drink -" Elvira: A Bloody Mary.Bartender: No hard liquor served past eight o'clock. Do you want a virgin?Elvira: Maybe, but, ah…I'll have a couple of drinks first."

It's cheesy, camp and a little dated but worth a watch if you have the time. It's not totally unfair to compare it with a Carry On film.

If you were a boy who was 16+ back when this came out then you will no doubt remember Elvira as she had a couple of endearing qualities about her....Her cracking sense of humour and great taste in B-Movies of course.. what else would you be thinking of?!Still a funny film and Cassandra Peterson plays Elvia perfectly, with tongue placed firmly in cheek (her own of course!)It's full of double entendres like an old carry on film, so I'm sure those who like to be offended by everything these days will get their fill from this one! :pRecently watched as one of our Friday night 80s movies which we've been doing since the 2020 lockdowns started. There were some great fun films made in that decade when you step away from the big obvious blockbusters and this is definitely one of them.Shame it wasn't on to rent, but actually I'd forgotten how good it is and will watch again anyway now we own it.

I never saw this movie back in the day, recently been wondering what it would be like and took my chances. I can surely say this movie was brilliant! Full of laughs all the way through made the watching a charm.I definitely would recommend this comedy to anyone who likes good laughs.

Sexy and sensual Elvira into showbiz, quits her career, but at the same time discovers that she has part in her great aunt's will, she inherits a house, a dog and a 'recipe book.' She travels to a small ultra conservative town in New England, where she encounters her 'uncle' who badly wants that recipe book... I won't describe the movie any further - no spoiler alert, but it's very funny, sassy and with a dose of black magic thrown in - great movie!

Llego rápido, en buenas condiciones, no tiene subtitulos ni idioma en español pero es buena pieza de coleccion

La description est un peu succincte, puisque je n'ai rien vu sur les bonus et il y en a. Première bonne surprise pour moi et pas des moindres, la possibilité de voir le film en 4:3 Open Matte (sans cache ou recadrage, c'est à dire on voit + d'image en haut et en bas). Normalement j'aurais dû me réveiller puis réalisé que ce n'était qu'un rêve parce qu'en achetant le blu-ray (édition du 16 juillet 2019) il n'est mentionné que la version 16/9 et je me disais qu'il allait falloir que j'essaie de récupérer la version full screen ailleurs. Alors par contre c'est pas une version HD la version 4/3 j'ai l'impression, il manque le logo new world pictures au tout début et pas de trace du titre en français dans la VF comme les films disney mais c'est sûrement mieux comme ça. (Et est-ce vraiment du 4/3 ou bien du 4/3 dans du 16/9 avec des colonnes noires sur les côtés, ce qui expliquerait qu'il n'y ait que ce rapport de forme mentionné ?)Autre bonus: Le choc de revoir Numa Roda-Gil en mode père Noël dans le doc et super de revoir des extraits en bonne qualité de son émission Babylone avec Cassandra Peterson.Les petites déceptions:- Ne pas avoir inclus l'extrait complet avec Cassandra Peterson ou l'émission complète Elvira de Babylone en bonne qualité- Impossible de désactiver les sous-titres en Version Originale, j'ai absolument horreur de ces limitations de disques qui empêchent d'utiliser le menu du lecteur DVD pour choisir ses préférences. Je déteste les bridages, une étoile en moins juste à cause de ça sauf que sur mon lecteur j'ai trouvé une solution car je peux changer leur position et les mettre hors champ, donc vous récupérez l'étoile.Enfin j'ai l'impression que le disque est multizone malgré qu'il soit indiqué comme B mais je me trompe peut-être....

Un bellissimo cult della commedia horror anni '80 con protagonista la meravigliosa, sensuale, spassosa e carismatica Elvira (Cassandra Peterson). Storia ricca di trovate simpatiche, ritmo scorrevole, atmosfera scanzonata, belle musiche, risate garantite. Edizione dvd di qualità. Consigliatissimo
