Easy to use, fine point makes writing a pleasure

What a fantastic development! For many years, these were my favorite pens--light, smooth writing, fine line, and they truly did "write first time, every time." It didn't hurt that the legendary British historian Arnold Toynbee used one (see the cover and the photo facing the title page in his book, Experiences (Oxford 1969)). A couple of decades ago, when it became clear that BIC was dropping them, I mentioned this to my late, wonderful sister, who went to shops across central Indiana and bought up all she could find and gave me a bag full of them. The last two have just dried out. About ten years ago, I wrote to BIC to complain about this, and they sent me four samples of the replacement they planned to introduce, also orange with a fine point, but a crystal barrel. But I never saw any in a store, and it was back to my Cross pens and Mont Blanc. Now I stumbled across the Amazon listing for this pen and ordered some. They are slightly different -- slightly altered cap and a colored stripe near the point that indicates the color, but they write just like the original. And they are made in France, not China or Mexico. These are shipped from the U.K., where they are still available. I am indignant that I have been in the U.K. many times over the past 20 years and never thought to look for them in a stationer's or chemist's shop. But at least I have them now.

I used these pens religiously when I was in college and then they discontinued them in the US. But they kept making them in France. :) SAME OLD FEATURES: 1. Orange plastic hexagonal (six-sided) barrel which gives a great grip. 2. Fine tip point .7-.8 3. Beautiful light blue ink, not dark navy, which is easy on the eyes. 4. Ink washes out of clothes and wipes off of purses and furniture with a small dab of soap. 5. Smooth writing ball point. 6. Still comes in blue, black, red, and green. 7. Still made in France, but imported to UK so we can get it shipped to the US. 8. New product, not vintage old dried up ink pens. 9. Hole in cap to keep ink from exploding. 10. Plug at top of pen so if you want you can remove the refill and use it for something else. WHAT'S NEW: 1. Barrel is slightly narrower. It takes some getting used to. 2. Because the barrel is narrower now there's a "bulge" at the top of the pen. I don't care though. It just looks funny. 3. All but the black have a color band around the tip showing the ink color. ROYAL MAIL VS. SPRING GLOBAL: 1. Ordered from a seller with perfect ratings on May 22. 2. They shipped Royal Mail (no tracking in US). 3. Received on June 1, exactly 10 days later. 4. Ordered the same product from a different UK seller on May 22. 5. The other seller used Spring Global (no tracking in US). 6. Still have not received as of June 9. 7. Go with the seller with perfect ratings who ships ROYAL MAIL and combines shipping. (Should be easy to figure out.)

I love these pens.... These are pens from yesteryear. They still write smoothly & I love the fine tip! The only thing that's missing is the BIC-Fine branding on each pen. But it's not a functionality issue... just a core memory from my bank clerk days.

One of my favorite fine point ink pens. I took many shorthand notes with a BIC fine point ink pen while in business college. Although this pen is not available at my local office supply store, at least I can order from AMAZON!

After seeing some of the negative reviews, I wasn't sure what I would get when I ordered these. Well, the box arrived much faster than the seller promised, and the pens are great! There are some very minor cosmetic differences from the BIC fine point pen I used years ago, but the quality is as high as ever and the value just can't be beat. I love a company that cares about the quality of the products they sell, even the products that are very inexpensive. Writing with this pen is a pleasure I thought I'd never have again. I now plan to buy it in every ink color they offer.

Son BIC de punta fina, con eso se dice todo, gran calidad y a muy buen precio. Lo único que la caja venía un poco aplastada, pero eso no afecta a su funcionamiento.
