Clean, Easy, and Relatively Painless!
I normally wait at least a few months before reviewing a product, since most require repeated use to really gain a solid understanding of the product's effectiveness. Not so for Moom; I got back to the computer as soon as I could after using it for the very first time. It's that good. I've been on a life-long search for the perfect hair remover, and have considerable experience with wax strips (which I'd argue are not actually "wax" but a low-toxin adhesive) and cream depilatories. I have very fine, blond hair, but let's face it - when you want hair gone, you want it gone, regardless of whether anyone else can see it or not. The wax strips are nasty, and leave a lot of hair behind along with most of the adhesive ("wax"). Cream depilatories downright stink, even the ones that sincerely claim theirs smells "fresh". Aside from the stink and the toxic chemicals that comprise them, the creams also do a substandard job on fine facial hair for some reason. I have left it on my skin up to 11 minutes, and still must drag a tissue across my skin to rip the hair out. Both are notorious for breaking the hair off above the surface, leaving a veritable stubble where I was promised "smooth skin for up to two weeks". Both make me break out. This is an ugly business! Determined to find an organic solution, I conjured up this product in my search. When you are trying to remain organic, there are very few hair removal choices other than a straight-edge. So I gave Moom a shot. I was in a rush to leave the house the first time I used it, but took the package apart and skimmed the directions. The container of solution required a small amount of heat to warm up enough to be spreadable (30 seconds in my weak microwave). My guess is submerging the container in a cup of hot water would be equally effective. Once pliant, the solution is spread in a very thin film over a small area (in my case, where the thigh joins the body). This is undoubtedly the most critical step, as you want to ensure the entire area is covered uniformly with no thick spots. The skin must be held taut and smooth while the cloth strip is smoothed over it and rubbed down gently. The first strip I ripped off left me immediately convinced that it didn't work - I didn't feel much of anything. But the evidence on the strip proved otherwise. In fact, every last hair was removed, no matter how tiny. I have NEVER seen that before. And the cloth strip not only captured every last hair, root and all, it also picked up every last trace of the solution as well, so that my skin was smooth and clean without need for soap and water or scary blue oil (paint thinner) to remove sticky goo from my legs. I folded the strip in half and threw it on the floor of the shower while I did the second leg. By the time I turned on the shower and the water was warm enough to get in, the strips were rinsed clean. I am so impressed! A few reviewers complained that the Moom was messy, but I would argue it is only as messy as you work. If you are careful and methodical about your work, you will find it is very clean and easy. Even if you get a little on the sink or floor, it cleans right up with water. Very much unlike those wax strips that roll back up on themselves the minute you separate them, not to mention their propensity to latch onto every available surface like flypaper. Or wads of tissue coated in used, malodorous depilatory cream. THAT is messy. This was highly manageable, odorless, and gentle. I can't believe I'm writing this, but I'm actually looking forward to using it again. UPDATE: Having used this multiple times now, I have a few tips that might make the process easier: 1) if the hair is fine, put a little baking soda, calcium carbonate, etc. on it to add density and grip so it doesn't just slide out of the wax. 2) warm the wax first but leave it on for enough time to cool off a little before removing. If you remove too quickly, the wax won't have time to harden onto the hair. 3) starting with squeaky clean skin is a must - any residual lotion will hamper your efforts.

Good Product
Pros: - The sugar based was washes away easily with water. - Reusable waxing strips and applicators: all you have to do is soak them a bit, wash and dry and they're ready to be used again and again. - The large waxing strips were really long, if you need more smaller sizes you can cut them up into smaller pieces. I my large strips into six smaller strips each. - Not extremely painful: I used this product for a brazilian and even though I can't compare it to the usual wax I can say the pain was tolerable. - Does a good job at catching the coarse hairs Cons: - If not ripped properly in the right direction, sometimes you only break the hair off at the root and not remove the hair from the root. - Doesn't really catch finer hairs. - Need to practice and find the right technique to apply the right amount or else hair will not come off with the wax. When the instructions say paper thin in means PAPER THIN. The thicker the layer is the more inefficient the wax will become. My advice is to pull your skin taught and scrap the applicator down firmly so it applies the wax but also takes off the extra layers so it leaves a thin layered trail. - Sticky trail: the sugar may string a little. Neutral Comments: - Doesn't really have the lavender scent, it just smells like sugar, which doesn't really affect anything. - Edible, I've actually licked this stuff off my fingers when things got sticky. I think the pros outweigh the cons. The product is excellent in my opinion, but it's not for everyone. It does take a few tries to figure out the technique but once you do you'll find it pretty satisfying.

I like it. But it takes some getting used to.
This is the first waxing product I have ever got before and it is the first time I have every tried to wax myself. I found out a few interesting things. I'm a guy so this kind of thing is totally out of the norm for me. But I decided to shake things up a bit. Here is what I have learned. The wax is made from 90% honey 4% molasses and the rest is a mild thickening agent that is not listed on the bottle because if they said what it is you could most likely make the stuff at home in your kitchen for next to nothing. And of course some kind of wax blended in. Honey is a natural antibiotic so it makes sense to use if your pores start to bleed. Cold wax removes hair better but is way harder to apply. And it hurts to do so. Cold wax is for your face only. warm wax goes on better but does not remove hair as well. The hotter it is the less effective it is. The instructions are not joking about not microwaving the product for more than 10 seconds, honestly 8 seconds was enough. Never apply the wax in a larger area than the size of the wooden stick that comes in the kit. Apply a line the same width and length of the stick and rub the cloth into the wax. Doing narrow long strips at a time will keep it from hurting. Let set for at least 60 seconds for the wax to cool a bit and then pull. If the hair does not want to come off you must pull the hair in the opposite direction. Do not try to wax in a hot room. If you are sweating this wax will NOT work at all. This wax melts instantly when in contact with water or sweat. Make sure to trim all hair to the same length. If you don't you will regret it. (Trust me...) All hair should be half of 1 inch long. Probably #3 or #2 size hair trimming attachment for your electric hair clipper set. If at all possible have your husband or wife help you with the process. It makes it 100 times easier with 2 people. And lastly remember that this is a LONG AND TIRING PROCESS>>> You will probably not get the results you are looking for on the first waxing. And you will be sore the next couple of days Guaranteed. However by the 2nd or 3rd waxing you will be squeaking clean and looking great. I hope my instructional review has helped.

Wasn't For Me, Doesn't Grab the Finer Hairs
I was looking for an organic hair removal wax and stumbled on Moom. I had bought Gigi's Microwavable Wax before (the pink, opaque one) and I really didn't want to go back to it since it get's so messy and is hard to clean. It's also very harsh and I ripped my skin off a few times before. From the reviews it seemed very gentle, easy to use, and easy to clean. Aside from the negative reviews, I thought I had a chance of it working for me. The price was good, the packing is well designed, seemed like a good match! When I received the package, I couldn't wait to use it. One of the first problems I ran into was that it delivered on a cold day. I immediately opened the package and the top film that you are supposed to remove was stuck to the wax when I removed the cover. It was so difficult to remove the top protective film that I had to pick it off, all the while getting my fingers stuck in the wax. I wasted a good portion of the product already. That was my mistake, I should have waited for the wax to settle to room temperature. Anyways I followed the instructions very carefully and heated it for about 10 seconds. I had to heat it a bit more to have the temperature from outside go down. I applied a very thin layer and apply the wax strip to the area between my eyebrows. It didn't work for me at all, there were thick and thin hairs in between my eyebrows but it didn't pull any of them! The wax was gentle pulling off and it was very easy to clean, but I don't think this was the wax for me. I really wanted to like you Moom! Unfortunately I missed the cutoff to return this product.

Great alternative to shaving or waxing
I was looking for a way to stay smooth without having to throw away a bunch of plastic or paper. Shaving always involved some kind of blade that would have to be thrown in the landfill, and waxing involved a lot of mess and paper and muslin being thrown out, and the use of an electric heater that would need storing, etc. Sugaring is virtually waste-free. The sugar wax is a biodegradable food product that washes down the drain with warm water. The muslin strips can be rinsed out and used over and over, as can the wooden applicators (you have to take care to dry them thoroughly - I solarize them on the laundry line). If you've never sugared, I recommend at least having a wax professionally done a few times (or have a friend teach you) so you get the gist of how waxing works, the feel of it, how to handle tricky areas of the body etc. The Moom kit is easy, comes with everything you need plus some basic instructions. It works effectively to remove hair if you follow the instructions, and with the essential oils and the sugar itself, it leaves your skin feeling much healthier than a traditional wax does. If you make a mess with it, it cleans up with warm water. The glass jar can be reused or recycled. Highly recommend trying it out!

Seems to only work on long dark hairs
First off i'd like to say that i'm a guy. I bought this then realized there was a mens version but it was too late, I don't know how big of a difference the men's version would make though. My primary use for this product was for hairs between my eyebrows, and hairs on my upper cheeks. I can say it worked great on the unibrow section, my hairs in that area were a little longer and thicker though. For my upper cheeks, the hairs were short and fine, and it barely took any off at all. I ripped these sheets off on my right cheek like 6-7 times, and it did take a few off but not even a 1/4. On the other side, I only did it twice, barely took any off either. This is my first time using anything like this, so i'm sure i'm doing something wrong somewhere.. but I will give it another try and see how it goes. It just doesn't seem like it does a good job on those short fine hairs, so I don't know how you women out there do it. -- Update: Tried it for a second time. I managed to get a tiny bit more hair off and I'd like to think I was doing a good job. It simply wouldn't come off though. I mean it advertises that it takes off light hairs but it really doesn't. Maybe the hairs need to be long or something. I may try the mens version eventually, but I won't ever buy this one again.

Inefficient
I was disappointed with this product. I am a Caucasian woman with coarse, dark leg hair, and have always shaved, because I have very sensitive skin and don't do well with wax and chemicals. I was hopeful that Moom would be a solution for me since it's natural and gentle. I allowed my hair to grow out for an inconvenient two weeks to experiment with the product, as directed. The product was very minimally painful, and not hard to use. No bad odour. I followed the directions very carefully. The product DID remove some hair, but left more than it removed, and also broke some hairs off instead of pulling them completely out. After attempting to Moom the same leg 3 times, I finally gave up because there was still a very unsatisfactory amount of hair left. For the price, it was worth a try. I don't want to knock Moom completely. I appreciate any business that offers an alternative to harsh chemicals. I suspect Moom is hit or miss - it might work very well for some people, you would just have to try it for yourself. It didn't work well for me. I suspect it may be more efficient on fine, sparse hair. Back to shaving!

Organic Hair Removal
I've never waxed myself before, but this works great! Putting on a thin layer, rubbing quickly a few times in the direction of growth, and then rapidly pulling the strip off makes it work perfectly. There is still a little pain, of course, but it's certainly bearable. There's a slight learning curve too if you've never waxed before, but it's great that the strips are reusable. The only thing you need to restock on is the wax, which you won't use very much of at a time. I put it in the microwave a couple times to get to a good consistency, and it wasn't messy at all. I also noticed that my skin became much less red and bumpy than when I went to the salon. I have very sensitive skin since after going to the salon, I would be rashy for days, but with this, it seems to be just several hours/less than a day. Best of all, it's organic and affordable. I will definitely continue using this product.

Great Hair Removal Easy Clean Up
A great sugar and strip hair removal kit. Comes with everything you need. Worked well at removing fine hair. The strips washed up well by hand to be reused and clean up was so easy with a warm damp cloth.

sugar seeps through
Very poor quality. The sugar leaks through and makes a mess, and the fabric starts falling apart after a simple warm-water wash.
