A delicious traditional indulgence
Quite delicious. This yummy Scottish tart is rarely to be found outside of home baking (my brother makes a superb version) or in local bakeries. Walkers can usually be relied on to provide decent versions of Scottish favourites and they do not fail here. - these little tarts are mouth-wateringly yummy with good pastry and a decadently enjoyable filling. If you think mince pies are good, these will knock your socks off. You can feel good about yourself if you stick to one at a time. Try presenting them warmed as a pudding at a dinner party with cream, if you can stand the stuff, or ice cream, and impress your friends, or just indulge yourself at tea-time.

Lovely taste
For a boxed tart they are great. Preferable to mince pies imo. Not as good as the ones made at the deli in Moffat but if you cannot get there then these work ok

Yummy
Omg where have these been all my life. They’re like mince pies on crack. They’re so fruity and rich. I tried them first cold and it was a hard pass on that. Then I put one in the microwave for ten seconds and some squirty cream and omg. The pastry is short. Short to the point of being buttery and crumbly. It’s lovely. My immortal 87 year old dad hates nuts and he loves these. Now we buy a pack a week. Mostly for him. He said merry Christmas yesterday and it’s the end of March. I’m glad these are available all year round. They’re so moreish. Yummy. Warm them. Slap a bit of cream on the top and you’ll wonder where these have been your whole life!

They're pretty fechan good
My wife is Canadian and misses being able to buy butter tarts, so I bought her these after hearing they were the closest thing you could get in the UK. While that's not exactly the case due to the fruit mixed into the tarts, they're still pretty tasty, especially if you take the box's advice and pop them in the microwave (minus the foil!) for 15 seconds to make them just a wee bit warm. Recommended.

Ecclefechan tarts for that special occasions.
A taste of Scotland taking the village name of Ecclefechan a wee village in Dumfries. Ecclefechan tarts are not easy to find in England for special occasions glad that I can get through Amazon for a reasonable price.

Pure Decadence!
These tarts are a naughty indulgence, when you want to reward yourself, or someone else for that matter! The description of the ingredients is accurate - a luxurious sweet. We bougght a box on our outbound trip from Manchester Airport in December 2024 and sampled them on the aircraft. Delish! My wife, who doesn't go for such sweets, loved it that much, we ordered more online. They formed part of our New Years celebrations. No doubt, there will always a pack (or two) in the goodies cupboard - just for if...! :-)

Very tasty and nice for the holidays.
Ecclefechan tarts were often had at my Scottish grandparents house at Christmas time along with mince pies. I actually prefer these to the pies as they are open with a thin shortcrust pastry. You don't really see them very often "south of the border" so I was happy to find them. They are of very good quality, but not quite as good as home made. That being said, they are much less fuss than making the yourself.
