Good salt substitute
This adds a salt taste without the sodium. It's best not to use too much or it turns bitter, so one container lasts a long time. My blood pressure has dropped a lot since cutting out added salt. I do have to avoid restaurants though, or make sure the chef can make me something without salt. And of course I check the labels of any packaged foods I buy. I follow nutritionist Jeff Novick's guidelines and don't buy any food item with more mg of salt than calories. That's eliminates just about anything but fresh foods from Trader Joe's, sadly.

Real deal
On a salt restricted diet. Not a big salt user but I like to use it in cooking. What a surprise! Tastes like salt but is good for your blood pressure. Good for you! Love it! Love it! Anything unsalted add this. One deli carries unsalted turkey lunch meat & I add this. If u have high blood pressure, this is 4 you. U will love it.

Itโs good but;
Itโs good, the taste is ok but I really have nothing else to compare it to since this was the first salt substitute Iโve ever tried. I woke up one morning & had really bad gallbladder pains whenever I ate anything with salt on it, so I bought this to help with that problem & it has! But From what I could research? Itโs really, really high in potassium chloride sitting at 1.5g per every 1/4 teaspoon. Adult males should only take in 3,500 grams a day & this suggests you can substitute it for salt per instructions of recipe. One of my dishes calls for 1/2 teaspoon which puts it at 2,500 grams of potassium chloride right there, with one dish. Yeah we can argue that I didnโt eat the whole dish in one sitting, but thatโs still a lot especially if youโre taking another substitute like I do which is a Glucosamine Sulfate with Potassium Chloride thatโs 1,000 grams a pill with the instructions of having 2 per day. My lips are tingling at the moment because I didnโt do the math before I used this. But thatโs ok, Iโll adjust tomorrow, & not make anymore meals tonight with this. Also, this is a 3oz Shaker bottle just incase you missed it in the description or on the pictures. But besides that? Itโs pretty good & has a very salty taste. I did order the Mortonโs version and No-Salt to try as an alternative to this, so once I try it? Iโll be sure to update this review in comparison. Hope this helps.

Margin of error for ruining food is too narrow for me.
I apologize to anyone who does not have this taste problem with "Nu-Salt". First let me say, I am trying to reach the US RDA for adults of 4.7g of Potassium per day to combat severe edema. I was rarely salting my foods, but I was hopeful that low potassium (about 2g/day) with above recommended sodium intake (>=1.5g/day, not good) were to blame. Upon finally getting near 4g/day of Potassium including from supplementation, not only did I finally get control over my edema, but I started to experience many positive medical effects that I was ailing from and didn't realize getting the right amount of potassium was such a necessity. (not only do we need 4.7g/day of potassium, but it is necessary to keep the potassium to sodium ratio a little less than 5:1). Now, I salt my foods with Potassium Chloride when needed (I buy no salt or low salt products now, which I never did before) and put "better" salt back in using Potassium Chloride (a potassium salt) further lowering my sodium intake while increasing my potassium intake. A win-win deal. :-) Just a tip about using Potassium Chloride to replace Sodium Chloride (common table salt): some brands of Potassium Chloride, or potassium based salt... however you want to remember it, have a very thin line for taste tolerance from being just right to overwhelming the taste of the food you are trying to salt it on with an unpleasant metal taste. I found one product on Amazon that has a much greater margin of error when salting with it, which is so helpful, especially when new to using Potassium Chloride to substitute for table salt. "Nu-Salt", unfortunately, has that narrow margin of error when salting my foods. If it's low sodium broth or hard boiled eggs, I just add more broth or eggs, but commonly, you can't always correct over salting so easily. I've wasted too much food, even when salting a little, then tasting a little and repeating as needed. That's why I say it is a narrow margin of error, because I so try to not over do it, and then suddenly, with just a little more added, the food taste like metal and I ruined it. Oh, want to know the Potassium Chloride based salt product I am now using with the wider margin for error when salting my foods? It's "No Salt". I won't touch "Nu-Salt" anymore. I bought both potassium products from Amazon. I do realize that everyone's tastes are different, so you may actually have a different experience and prefer "Nu-Salt". For me, I'm sticking with "No Salt"... and yes, there is less potassium/gram in "No Salt" than in "NuSalt", which may be the sole difference in taste for me. Want to know one of the many unexpected improvements I got when focusing on my Potassium intake and reducing my sodium intake to the ratio of about 5:1, respectively? Potassium lowers blood pressure; sodium raises it. Yes, I had a nearly instant observation of lower (average) blood pressure when I started to get near the 4.7g/day of Potassium goal (and, respectively, near the almost 5:1 ration of potassium intake to sodium intake. Don't forget, I have mild hypertension and even I noticed a difference. It was only a few digits down on both blood pressure numbers, but I will take it! I will post pretty much this same review for the "Alta" Potassium Chloride pills and the 2 brands of Potassium Chloride salts, "No Salt" and "Nu-Salt", so if you see my posts repeat itself, please don't get upset with me. I let you know ahead of time. :-)

Nu-Salt Defective Package
Nu-Salt is a great product compared to most salt substitutes. However, it is pricey. I bought a 12-pack of 3oz containers for a really low price, $0.56/oz as opposed to $1.00+/oz. They arrived on time and the Amazon shipping box was undamaged. The Nu-Salt box inside was also undamaged. However, there was maybe a tablespoon of loose Nu-Salt in the Amazon box, and more loose inside the manufacturer's box. So I removed the 12 containers one at a time over the sink. 11 were OK, but the bottom had fallen off the 12th one, and all the salt went into the sink. After checking with Amazon, I found that the item is "not eligible for return or replacement". I was aware of that when I ordered it, but thought there might be *some* recompense available if one was damaged. NOPE. So, be aware that if it arrives with one or more containers leaking, that is your problem, not theirs. Other than that, I highly recommend Nu-Salt as a product!

Happy with this
Use this instead of salt now. Have made salt free seasonings, like taco and chili. You can be very creative while watching your salt. Tastes like salt to me, but not to my husband, he can tell the difference. Use it all time when salt is called for in recipes.

Excellent magnesium, salt alternative
Good salt, all magnesium and no salt. Magnesium is very beneficial essential mineral for our body. So you're getting a good dose of magnesium in less than a quarter of a teaspoon mixed with water. Does not contain much in the small tube so need to buy 3 or more to last longer if you're using it everyday. Good stuff, doesn't taste like salt.

Belief it or not
