I make a lot of Japanese recipes, and this makes a perfect filling for mochi or Taiyakis (Small, Adzuki filled fish shaped pancakes.) The bean paste has a nice texture and a wonderful sweet (but not too sweet) flavor. I'm very happy with the product and will definitely order it again!

Warning: this does have bean skin in the paste.Tastes delicious, is not grimy or powdery. Has a smooth consistency. Goes amazing with vanilla ice cream.

I've never needed to buy commercial red bean paste and don't know what I should have expected. As I needed to roll balls of it between my hands in order to make the fillings for bean cakes and sesame balls, I found this brand to be a too wet around the edges. However, I was able to use enough of the main body of the paste well enough for my purposes, so having to throw out the too-goopy leftovers didn't upset me. I made filling for 25 mung bean cakes with one package. You may know better than I what to expect, so take my rating with a grain of inexperience, please.

Great for making Japanese deserts but after visiting an Asian market I found the same item there for less than $2.50 CAD a bag -_-

It is more on the sweet side but still very tasty! I used as jam in the buns and also made some easy mochis.

Received it Jan 13, 2023. It was already expired Dec 2022.
