Excellent cat food
My beloved cat, Isha, was very sick with pancreatitis. He wasn't that interested in food in general and when he did eat, he vomited several times a day. We tried many different foods that were recommended for pancreatitis, but he just ignored them. However, he LOVED Lotus Cat Just Juicy Venison Stew. Eating this for a month (with probiotics), he stopped vomiting and started to recover from the pancreatitis. Isha is healthier now than he has been in 5 months. If need be, I will feed this food to him for the rest of his life.

Catโs favorite
This has been my catโs favorite for years. Itโs very hard to find anymore. When I found this online I was surprised. I ordered immediately, and the delivery was prompt.

My cats love this stuff
I have two cats. This is both their favorite. They finish it every time. Kind of pricey, but it's a unique protein, so they always are. I've tried cheaper venison, but the cats don't love it nearly as much as this.

Possible formula change
This was my catโs favorite, but Iโm not sure if they changed formula. This batch smelled different from previous ones, and my cat refused to eat

Cat likes it
I was looking for a venison-based wet food for my cat and tried this one. My finicky cat liked the taste and ate well. The food is very wet, with almost a soup-like consistency, so it was a bit messy at times, but anything for my furbaby.

Spanky actaully loves this!
One of my cats has developed allergies to the proteins in his regular food so I have had to switch to duck, rabbit, kangaroo (yes! a Canadian pet food company actually makes kangaroo food for cats) and/or venison. I thought venison stew sounded pretty tasty, but what do I know? I'm not a cat. The kitty with allergies will not go near it, so I thought OK, no biggie, the other 3 cats will eventually finish it. Nope. They won't touch it either. One sniff and they walk away. So glad I wasted almost $70 on this. UPDATE: A second cat might have developed allergies (poor kitty was having awful diarrhea). When I brought him home after his abdominal ultrasound (which showed evidence of an inflamed pancreas) he was starving, so I thought why not see if he'll eat this stuff now. He devoured it! And now it's a regular part of his diet. I'm about to order another case.

High price
My cats are very picky wet food eaters. I like to keep this one in the rotation as a treat, a couple cans a week because it cost so much. They just raised the price about 8% in November 2025. Chewey is now โout of stockโ so very probable that when it comes back, it will be the higher $76 price.

They're pushing each other out of the way for this stuff.
I have a cat with chronic pancreatitis who's been on prescription food for a while. My vet has been having trouble getting deliveries of the prescription food so I've been looking for an alternative and this was listed as a healthy food for cats with pancreatitis. Normally when I feed my cats, I have to watch and make sure the one cat sticks to his prescription food. It must be bland stuff because he leaves a lot behind and my other cat won't finish it off for him. I've tried other healthy alternative brands and watched as just walked away from it, even when I mixed it with food they liked. It doesn't matter how healthy a food might be, if I can't get my cats to eat it, it's worthless. Today I opened a can of Lotus Venison Stew for my ailing cat and put some down unmixed to see what his first reaction would be. I fully expected him to turn his nose up and walk away. Instead both cats converged on his dish and were pushing each other so they could get to it. I had to put down a second plate of the Venison Stew for my other cat so he'd let the first cat eat, and this was while he still had a plate of his own Fancy Feast sitting there waiting for him.
