People who oil fretboards have a lot of choices, and I encounter a lot of particularity ... I'm not that guy. I just want the fretboard moistened, with as little effort as possible. I really like this product: the applicator works for me, the smell is more pleasant than many alternatives, and it works. I live in the southwest, and my guitars' fretboards dry out in about six months, even when kept in controlled-humidity environments. This product goes on easily, wipes off, lifts dirt if it has gathered behind a fret ... and doesn't cost too much. One bottle usually works for about 30 treatments for me, and I slather it on. This is one of those small items that is a real difference maker for me.

This oil works great!! I especially like the felt like material on the top of the bottle that controls just enough of a dab to apply.

Great for maintaining my fretboard. I use this product when changing my strings. It has a citrus smell, is easy to apply and even has an application too that helps you put the correct amount of product.

An excellent product for the purpose. I expect 4 ounces should last the average guitar player with "a guitar or three" the rest of their lives if dressing the fret board with each string change. I treated my bass and my electric (twice, was pretty dry) and barely dented the contents of the bottle. I'd like to see this item 10-15% less on price, but specialty items are specialty items. The applicator wick should be a bit longer... It can be difficult to apply between the higher frets lacking enough room for the bottle top and the very short wick.

This fretboard oil was easy to apply and made the fretboard, on my IYV IP-350, look great. If you buy a guitar that was made in a country with high humidity and live in an area of low humidity, oiling the fretboard is a must. IYV Guitars are made in Vietnam, and I live in Northern Nevada, which is a much drier climate. The 6554 Dunlop Fretboard Oil worked nicely to remedy that dry fretboard. Since I had already installed new strings, I used a cotton swab to apply the oil beneath the strings and between the frets. I dabbed the cotton swab on the top of the Dunlop 6554 dispenser and rubbed it on the fretboard, bending and lifting my strings to get beneath and around them. I've watched many videos on guitar care and maintenance; it's important to not over-oil your fretboard. Be sure to apply a light coat and buff it off, after letting it set for a bit. I applied a light coat to half of my fretboard then went back and buffed it with a clean, micro-fiber cloth before applying it to the other half. After I completely oiling and buffing, I used a paper towel under the strings to absorb any oils I may have gotten on the strings. I then applied Dunlp 65 string conditioner, retuned and was good to go!

Anyone who has bought a new guitar knows that the fretboard comes from the factory dry and crusty-looking. Mexican-made Fenders are notorious for this but almost any new guitar will have a similar problem. The solution is simple. Remove the strings and apply the Dunlop Ultimate Lemon Oil with the convenient built-in applicator. Your fretboard will come back to life with a richer color and smoother feel. For extremely dry fretboards (like those on Mexican-made Fenders), repeated application may be necessary to achieve optimum results. Just rub the oil on the fretboard using the applicator and wait for it to soak in. Repeat as needed. In conclusion, this is the product that I have needed for years. It doesn't get any easier than this. No rags are needed. The applicator does the job perfectly.

Was leary about as I am kinda picky about scents. The lemon scent is really nice, it's exaxtly what you expect it to smell like. Sinks in really easily and leaves no oily leftovers. Buffs up easily and actually restores deep dark wood tones in the fretboard. Applicator is awesome. Like a bingo dabber. Highly recommend this product.
