Is this the type of grease that is used for metal-on-metal contact on bikes?

There is a lube that is for metal on metal contact that helps the two surfaces grip each other better and prevents slippage; for example a seat post or bar stem. That particular one is not used for threaded parts. But this one can and should be used for threaded parts.

Should I get this for applying to my aluminum seat post?

You could apply this lube to whatever you want, but for seat posts, handlebars and stems the recommended material is a carbon/alloy compound or paste such as Park Tool SuperGrip Carbon and Alloy Assembly Compound part #SAC-2. This paste helps create a tighter grip between two slippery surfaces (seat posts), carbon or aluminum. And also helps to eliminate squeaking in these areas.Having 100-200+ lbs. on a bike seat/post plus the road vibrations, bumps, potholes, curbs, etc. puts a lot of downward pressure on the seat post causing constant re-tightening adjustments. The paste was made to eliminate this slippage and constant seat post readjustments.

Is this used for bike wheel bearings

Yes. I have also used it at any other bearing sites on the frame, e.g.: bottom bracket, front fork. Very slippery - as promoted by Park Tool. Excellent product.
