BladesUSA HK-1067 Twin Ninja Swords, Black, 18-Inch and 26-Inch Lengths

This is a great looking set, sharp and fairly sturdy too. I'm sure it's cheap and imported but for the money I spent and free shipping ..wow! I would've done anything 30 years ago when I was a young ninja and used to scour old barns and junk yards to try to find something I could make a sword with. $15 bucks and I even cut up the cardboard shipping box to make a stand for them up on the book case. They look like a special and expensive collector set up there. I'll never really have a need to use them as this ninja is all grown up and just would use a gun for defense but ill definitely keep these little swords around just in case of a zombie apocalypse.

Pros: PRICE Look cool Decent quality blades Sheath material Do not come with ridiculous Chinese symbols Paint- can scratch but at least it doesn't look bad before use or flake off Cons: Grips: These will come off immediately. It is just some string loosely wrapped around two pieces of wood. You MUST take these off and either duck tape around the wood or wrap it very tightly in paracord. This is what I did and they look twice as cool and actually work. Blades are DULL. I have a bench grinder (best investment ever) so I put a razor edge on these in about 30 seconds a piece. Strap on the sheath: no good for wearing the swords on your back. It is far too small. However, they are good for hanging in your closet until needed.

These swords are one piece construction point to pommel of 420 anodized stainless steel. The edges didn't arrive in perfect condition but they can be ground out. On these particular swords, smaller conventional sharpeners seemed to have little to no effect. The swords, in conjunction with the anodization, require a heavy sharpener at least at first to work out any kinks. One of the other posters mentioned that the edges are similar to Xacto knife edges and chip away easily, which is true, but the solid single piece construction leads to a very durable product. I doubt these swords would break very easily, if at all. The nylon grips are certainly sufficient, although they could be slightly more heavily wound for a better hold. Also, inside the wrapping is some kind of paper/faux leather tape or something that appears to have no purpose other than to look cheap. The balance of the swords is basically in the middle of each sword, which is unacceptable. These are essentially glorified woodchoppers, or ninja machetes. The sheath is actually a fairly decent utility item. It slings well, sheathes and unsheathes well. However, the nylon webbing is not very conducive to heavily oiled blades and would likely begin to exude oil after some time. In short, for $14 and change, these swords are extremely durable, have a relatively nice sheath, and can hold an edge after some sharpening. Four stars because I like the purchase I made.

I love the swords I bought here. These swords are of high quality but I'm going to say a few things most reviews don't. One of course. Are they combat ready? Out of the box I'd say yes. Though you may want to sharpen them. However I'm saying if you were to use these in a fight there are things you'd have to take into account. These are not the highest if quality possible. Though they are extremely good for the price. If you cut through say a person you'd probably win the battle. However if you used these against someone with a different sword then they might win because they broke your sword. Other things to keep in mind. Pay close attention to the dip in the blade right above the handle. If the sword were to break it would be right there, the weakest point of the sword, and below that the handle is only big enough to make this a one handed sword. And the chord used to wrap this handle is very cheap and though it may not come apart in your hands because it's well tied it may rip at some point. That's my review on these swords from a combat perspective. I hope my review helped

These swords look cool, they arrived on time and in pristine condition. The thing that bothered me with this though was the fact that these swords are not at all sharp except for the tips. Overall they seem like pretty solid swords. In size however the mini combat sword is about 5 to seven inches longer than a tv remote, and the actual sword is little smaller than double the sze of the mini combat sword. The handles were also kinda disapointing the first layer is tape and then they just warped with some kind of material similar to yarn. The carrying case is kinda cheap , but then again how often are you actually going to carry swords around with you. This product is would be cool for like a 13 year old kid just starting to get into is kind of stuff

PROS for the price this set includes the longer sword which is REALLY great. I needed something for some trail clearing behind my new house, and this served the purpose really well. After sharpening the blade I had a great time cutting down vines and thorny plants. The smaller blade is perfect for display/decor, and the scabbard is nice for the price. After spending some time sharpening them properly, these blades performed well for me. CONS This metal, particularly the very tip of the blade, WILL BREAK, like how an exacto knife always loses their tip, so don't try to bend it or force it on things. Also, it isn't very sharp in particular right around the curve of the blade it isn't sharp at all- almost dull! The handle grips will slide around and bunch together, and one day I'm sure they will become loose and break off; I just leave them alone even if they bunch up during use. The Metal may rust- I don't think it's stainless steel. The scabbard bends and is prone to hiccups as you slide the sword in. You have to be careful- you can't just force your swords to sheath- you have to guide them in. (Edit 14y later i still have this set and it did not rust at all) BOTTOM LINE I got this set for 23USD - Definitely worth it. Despite some of the cons I've listed, I think this set is above expectations for the price. They have an authentic appearance and upon closer observation they appear to be of good construction, and have this basic awesome feel to them. I didn't experience slipping or sliding with the handle grips, despite the fact that the grips slide down the handle and bunch together. You might be looking for a sword like the longer one, but don't really feel like the smaller one is worth your purchase. I'd pay 23$ just for the longer one, and really that's just what I did. I'm happy with my purchase and the shipping was 3 days early.

I am not a sword collector, or a connoisseur, but this purchase may have started my collection. I actually just bought this to replace a baseball bat for light home defense - I was originally going for a machete for the "wow" factor but decided to go with this sword combo. I haven't unwrapped the handle wrap, but it appears that the blades are full tang and they seem rather durable. The short blade has seemingly perfect balance, the longer one seems to have ok balance. The blades of both swords are not sharp, but can be sharpened. The points however, are very sharp - sharp enough that it will pierce through the tip of the fabric holder that comes with the set. It does ship with some small plastic tip covers, but they seem to have been split during shipping as well. Overall, they seem strong and look nice, the inscription on the longer blade is a nice touch. For under 15 bucks you really can't go wrong no matter what purpose your're buying these swords for.

I just got this in today and I love the way they look. There are some Japanese characters on both blades that really add to it. The blade is sharp but not razer. I did chop some cardboard with one of them and it cut fairly clean. I would not try to cut anything harder than that. Both of them are really light. I don't think they are very durable but are fun to play around and cool looking (i would not recommend this for a child or anyone to immature to take care of something like this). The nylon wrap was lose. they slide out of the sheath nicely but you have to be carefully when putting them back in because it will catch on the inside of the nylon sheath, and it will cut the sheath if you try to force it in. I like this item. Good price but not a combat weapon if thats what you are looking for.

As a novice blade enthusiast, but with an intermediate amount of blade knowledge, these blades are really good FOR THEIR PRICE. If you are looking for an indestructible blade, you won't get 2 for 25 bucks. But if you are looking for nice display/show/practice/carry knives, then these are good. In a martial arts/urban survival setting, the shorter blade is perfect for 1hand use, where the longer blade is perfect for 2hand use. Beautiful design with drop-point tip and the long blade has foreign writing on it, the shorter blade is just black. Both say "Made in china" but can probably be scratched off and re-painted, as it's very small. Bottom of both blades has a flat pommel that is part of the blade (full-tang). Only complaint is the sword is hard to slide back into the sheathe, because the tips are so sharp they poke into the cloth material. However, the swords come out amazingly compared to other blades and swords I have had.

This is for stabbing not slashing. not sharp but tip is very pointy. Not much you can do with it but good and light for costumes

Had to return it because of kids in the house, but was very pointy. Definitely needs some sharpening on the edge out of the box though. Great price.

My girlfriend and I wanted some extra protection in the bedroom in the event of an intruder. This was PERFECT! Solid product at a great price. Arrived quickly too.

The big sword bent and warped a little and they both are very easy to chip and dent. I guess it's made of a soft metal. They don't come very sharp, but they look pretty cool. The smaller blade didn't come with the inscription, but the big one did. The smaller blade is actually kind of sharp for some reason, while the big one is dull. The hilts are kind of uncomfortable because the wrap moves around a bit. The smaller blade is definitely a one-handed blade while the bigger one is trying to imitate a two-handed blade. It's just uncomfortable to slash with two hands. Better off using one blade in each hand. These are less swords, and more Katana shaped machetes without the hand-guard. If nothing else, these blade look badass and are good for impressing your friends. They MIGHT be alright for a home intruder situation if you can get close enough to stab them. They seem strong enough to just beat the crap out of someone, but certainly wouldn't kill them from slashing.
