I didn't use this as a golf bag protective shell. I used it to get taller fixtures for a trade show booth. The hard shell case was 69lbs and with the weight I was skeptical that it would survive the domestic flight I needed it for. There were the expected scrapes and scuffs you would expect, but it protected the contents very well. The wheels made it easy to transport the load it was carrying. So I am pleased with the durability of the case and I think the price was fair.

This travel case definitely does a great job at protecting your clubs. It's big enough to house a good sized cart bag and provides enough padding to protect your longer clubs such as the drivers and fairway woods. The bag is also large enough to stock a fully loaded bag and your shoes. The case does not come with locking latches but rather a very durable zipper. I prefer this because latches are easily broken. I also recommend this bag if you are going to check it at the airport. Most airlines will not let you insure your clubs unless you have a hard shell case like this one. Samsonite quality Update: 7 years later and a ton of golfing trips later, this bag is still going strong.. it’s scuffed a bit ,but still looks good, wheels all work and nothing is broken. Update Feb 2024: still going strong, but it’s starting to show its age. The Zippers and hard shell are still functioning properly. The wheels are starting to wear a little but they still roll pretty well. This case has gotten a ton of usage. No brainer of a purchase if you care about your clubs

I really liked this case and have been eye balling it for quite some time. Looks good and is a bit roomier than my current cheap case. The case fits my fully loaded stand bag with some room to spare. I can definitely keep my shoes and maybe a couple dozen balls in the case. Zippers seem sturdy and the plastic is a lot harder than I originally thought which is nice. There't not much give on the plastic so it's pretty hard. When fully loaded up, the balance on the case gets thrown off so it's difficult to just push the case around upright. It will tip over essentially so just be aware of that. There are numerous complaints about this case not being durable so I can't comment on this unfortunately. I'm REALLY hoping this thing stands up to airline travel but only time will tell. My current travel case only survives because I the case bound together with straps. Hoping I don't have to do it with this case. I did purchase this from the Amazon Warehouse as the price was too good to pass up. I got the Used - Very Good condition and I'm really impressed with it. The case came in its original box put inside a larger box. Box condition was negligible so no issue there. The only issue I found with the case was some faint scratch marks and sticker glue. Condition wise, really impressed with the overall quality of the "used" case and can't beat it for the price.

I just got back from a trip where I flew with my golf clubs using this case. I can say I am extremely pleased. Not only was I able to fit my golf bag and clubs in this case, but also my golf shoes and an additional pair of sneakers. And even with all of that equipment in the case, it still came in under 50 lbs (which is the limit for checked baggage) (it came in at 47 lbs). The case is hard, so it provides ample protection for your clubs, etc. But the best part.... the ease of moving the case. There are 2 wheels you can roll on if you tilt the case and pull it behind you, but the real magic is in the 4 wheels on the bottom which allow you to easily roll the case in an upright position by pushing it (with not much force either). I was easily able to maneuver this case while pulling a rolling suitcase and wearing a backpack. The only downside I can find with this case is the size when transporting in a vehicle. If you have a large vehicle then this will not be an issue for you. However, if you have a smaller car I can see running out of space especially if you have more than one person with luggage. Overall, I am extremely pleased with this case. I now have no hesitation to take my golf clubs with me when I travel by airplane. As long as you plan ahead to make sure your transportation to and from the airport has plenty of space, this case is wonderful. I certainly would recommend it if you are looking for something to transport golf clubs via air travel.

I was initially drawn to this case with the promise of hard-case protection for my clubs married with convenience of the spinner wheels for easier transport. My disappointment stems from an extreme lack of durability. I went through (2) of these before I gave up and purchased a different product. Each case was taken on a separate trip (read 1 trip) via airline, 4 air legs per trip, and neither one of the cases made it home without significant damage. On the first case, one of the spinner wheels and its respective casing broke and shoved up inside of the case itself, rendering the wheel useless. I returned the case and chalked it up to extremely poor handling by baggage services. On the second case, the rivets attaching the top handle into the case pulled completely out, rendering the top handle (and most important handle) useless. Pictures are attached of each failure. My golf bag contained in the case weighed 32lbs, so it wasn't like I was overloading the case with too much weight. Here's the thing - I completely understand that the baggage services guys throw these bags around. In fact, I would expect them to treat golf bags in particular with an extra level of contempt due to their overall weight and "awkward-ness" as compared to other pieces of luggage. That's the entire reason most people, including myself, invest the extra $$ in a hard case - to compensate for the abuse. I would expect a product that is marketed to be more durable than a soft case to be exactly that - more durable than a soft case. This case, unfortunately, is not. Since I am now past my return window on the second case, I will try to fight with Samsonite to get it taken care of.

My search is finally over. I researched and read tons of reviews before purchasing a travel bag. I just received it and I am extremely happy with this bag. What surprised me is how sturdy yet light it is - not like cheap "dentable" or "crackable" plastic. My golf bag is heavy as it is so I like that this travel bag is light weight and not bulky. I got the silver and it has a nice gunmetal textured look to it. I have a 10 in. stand bag and a 46" long driver and it fits like a charm. I can just throw my bag in and zip it up. I don't have to separate my shoes and pouches just to make everything fit it in the bag. The interior is lined with a quality (not cheap/thin) padded red lining. There are also 2 thick straps with plastic buckles to secure your bag. There is no chance for your clubs to get scratched in here. There are 4 X 360 degree wheels on the bottom so the bag stands up easily and can be pushed with 1 finger without fear of it toppling over while upright. Prior to purchasing, I was skeptical about the bag being secured with only a zipper, but this is a very strong/well constructed zipper and it would take a whole lot of effort to be pried open. It comes with a small lock and 2 keys. The lock does not say TSA on it. I may purchase a combo lock simply because I'll likely lose the keys. The hardware and construction of this bag is definitely quality. I can be confident my set won't get damaged. Also, excellent shipping experience - I received it a day before it was promised. Love this bag!

Must have for anyone traveling with clubs. Fits nearly any bag, has tough outside and with swivel wheels its a breeze to push it with other luggage. Will never get a soft sided case again with this type of protection

This travel case did the job with ease. Fits my clubs plus some extras and has survived a couple flights with only a couple scratches and clubs arrived all in one piece. Would recommend this for your golf clubs.
