GLOTRENDS M.2 Heatsink Kits with Thermal Pad for 2280 M.2 SSD, Fit for Desktop PC Installation, 22x70x10mm Aluminum Body

Attached the heatsink to my Roku Stick after it started overheating with out new Samsung TV. It never overheated with our other TV, but the new Samsung OLED seems to drive the Roku hotter. Since updating the TVs software and the Roku's software didn't fix the issue; I had to resort to plan-B. Adding this heatsink was relatively easy, even though the Roku is not flat. Enough of the heatsink made contact to bring temps down from 116C to 101C. Not as low as I'd hoped for, but the annoying message about my Roku overheating is gone. I'll probably buy another one to attach to the other side of the Roku to see if it can bring it down further.

Works as intended for single sided m.2 ssds. Lowered the temp by 12C and prevented throttling of my single sided Samsung 970 EVO Plus SSD. Only issue is don't use the rubber bands for permanent installation, only for temporary testing. The metal clips are what you use in real installations. Space out the metal clips to distribute pressure evenly not on the ends as depicted by pictures. They are metal clips so be careful with scratching the PCB of the ssd and make sure you don't short out anything of some cheaper drives. Insert from bottom don't slide it along the ssd. If SSD is double sided look for something else, not this.

I don't have a lot to compare this product to, but it was an easy install and seems to be working. This went into my Qnap TVS-882 NAS under the CPU cooler shroud, so the fins are getting direct blower cooling, which is a bonus.

I bought this for my Samsung NVME 970 Evo Plus, after it hit 85C, during the performance benchmark. Slapped this on, at slightly higher ambient temps, and this heatsink brought that value down to 64C. In the image, the after is the top values. I used the metal clips, which went on fine. The way I secured them was to spread them outside the sides of the hs, positioned it where i wanted it, then pushed the clips in, and over the outside fins. They clip right in. Sliding them on didn't seem like a good idea, as it could scratch the bottom of the drive. I also stuck this on a WD Black SN750, but it wasn't in, before the hs came in. It's running at the same temps as the Samsung, but it only has one temp sensor, which seems to be the same type as Samsung's first value. I would definitely recommend these, as an easy way to bring down those crazy NVME temps, and maybe extend the life of the drive.

This heatsink is mounted to ssd via use of 2 metal clips that wraps around and ends on back of memory stick's backside. On SSD, back is full of traces and vias, and all those are insulated by very thin coat of masking material. Scary thing is, the clip has sharp edges and tension is quite high that edges scrape off the insulating coating all the way down to copper trace. I applied kapton tape so that it won't short. It would be nice if this piece was made with strong heat resistant and NON CONDUCTIVE material. The kit does include rubber-band but I don't trust it enough to last.

Install was a breeze they are solid and don't feel cheap. Doing well keeping my NVME drives cool also. I would definitely recommend these to use for your NVME drives !!!

I like the simplicity and was in the market to add a heat sink to my Samsung 980 M.2 SSD. Unfortunately the heat sink is a little too tall for the PS5 chamber plate.

I have a Samsung 970 Evo Plus as my primary drive inside a mini ITX case. The case itself is cramped and the SSD sits near the CPU. At idle my SSD reads about 65 degree Celsius. After installing this heatsink the temperature dropped to 45 degree C. I installed the thermal pad on TOP of the tamper-evident sticker on SSD as I didn't want to void my SSD warranty, so if you're willing to remove the sticker you'd likely get even more effective cooling. I highly recommend this to anyone who is worried about SSD temperatures.

I have used five of these heat sinks on multiple NVMe drives now, most recently a couple of Gen 4 drives - the Samsung 980 Pro and the WD SN850 - which runs hot, but all of them have been kept cool, and I’ve never seen any of them rise to above the low 50s, even under load. In terms of basic heat sink fundamentals they seem to tick the boxes as far as I can tell. They make good contact through the supplied thermal pad, their traditional finned design provides a large surface area, and their material seems to be thermally conductive enough to do it’s job well. Like any heat sink, in order to work effectively there must be airflow across it to carry the heat away. This shouldn’t be an issue in a modern well ventilated case, and anyone concerned about the performance of their drives and the effectiveness of their thermals should already have a good handle on this. Price wise, these are incredibly cheap for what they are. They’re well made, look nice, work well, and come with all the accessories you need for a successful installation. The cleaning wipes are a nice touch, as is the choice of two mounting options. I haven’t yet used the metal clips as I prefer to use the silicone bands to hold the heat sink onto the drive. Overall I couldn’t ask for more of a heat sink. I know there are more elaborate “beautiful” designs, and some that wrap around the rear, which may be necessary in some circumstances but I haven’t personally required that as of yet. My main concern is the temperature of the controller and these manage that perfectly.

El producto es increíble le bajo 16 grados a mi ssd, considerando que venía de importación y para lo que costó 266 pesos mexicanos con un cupón me parece impresionante. El producto es muy sencillo, consta del disipador, 4 bandas elásticas (solo ocupas 2 las otras son de repuesto), 2 grapas metálicas, el pad térmico y unas toallitas limpiadoras como se puede ver en las fotos que adjunto. Viene también con un manual sencillo que incluye un codigo QR el cual es un enlace a un video de youtube sobre como instalarlo por si el manual no te quedó muy claro. No quería perder la garantía de mi ssd así que se lo puse por encima de la etiqueta, y me sirvió igual, de seguro si le quitaba la etiqueta tendría mejores temperaturas pero no quería arriesgarme a perder dicha garantía, y de todos modos si estabas pensando que el adhesivo del pad térmico te va a dejar pegajosa la etiqueta no es así porque apenas trae pegamento suficiente y no es muy fuerte por eso trae las bandas elásticas de echo yo lo tuve que quitar y poner otra vez porque no me salió bien la primera instalación y me di cuenta que no deja residuos. Si te llegara a dejar residuos los sacas con un poco de alcohol isopropílico y sale de volada. Que por cierto si estabas dudando como poner las bandas elásticas ya que parece que no fueran a entrar, solo mete el dedo índice y el pulgar al cabo se estiran bastante te dejo unas fotos para que no batalles. No le quise poner las grapas de metal porque el manual dice que si tocan alguna soldadura del ssd este puede hacer corto circuito así que no me quise arriesgar, por lo que te recomiendo que solo uses las bandas elásticas. Me gustó mucho, seguramente compre otro para mis otras PCs.

Very well packed , before installing 59 deg operating temperature after installing reduced to 41deg , definitely it will reduce 10-15deg operating temp of ssd .
