Perfect Square, Perfect!
Great childrenโs book for young artists! Creativity will be sparked by the illustrations showing all the ways a square can be transformed into works of art.

Creativity personified!
I love this book. Hall has created a masterpiece with this one. Everything about the book works beautifully. The story and theme about dealing with the challenges that life can throw at you is spot on. The design of the book suits the story to a tee. The way the colors compliment each other and the creative illustrations add so much to the appeal of the book. Often one doesn't find a lot of character growth in a picture book, the story is often too short, especially if the characters aren't human. But here the square does grow and realize that change and challenge can bring joy. I highly, highly recommend this book. My students also really enjoyed the book. This could lead to some great art activities as well as a great read-a-loud.

Clever idea for a story!
Very clever idea. For a little older kids. Spacial concepts and creative language are delightful. A little early for my great nephew but soon. Love the author

Great gift!
Gave this book to my five year old niece for as a Christmas gift. I don't know who was more excited to get home with it and try it out, her or her mother. I know they will have fun with this book and it's creative ideas. I even gave her a pack of construction paper to go with it, just to get her started.

Don't forget the art supplies
The book took a square and explored possibilities. Cutting. Wrinkling. Rearranging. Adding. A young child's exploration of theme and variation. For a very young child someone who knows how to use scissors is needed. Along with the book supplies were included with a pencil box to hold. 12" square scrapbook printed paper found at Wal-Mart. Blunt tipped scissors. Scalloped cutting scissors. Hole punch. The children are not quite old enough for the projects in the book. They did enjoy having it read to them.

This book is beautiful, visually and in content
This book is beautiful, visually and in content. It illustrates turning "mistakes" into something wonderful and exemplifies creativity. It could be used for a unit on paper art, shapes and color. Fabulous book for the young ages (up to age 8?)

Great book to use when teaching children about shapes
This is a very nice book for teaching shapes with young children. This books gives them lots of ideas for all the different types of things they can make with a square and where they might see squares and other shapes in their daily lives. Iโve used it when teaching shape with year 1.

Perfection
Ever get into a discussion about nobody being perfect? or try to define perfection? This simple story of the perfect square takes that conversation to a totally new level... back to basics. Great for getting children to clarify their thinking in a discussion or debate, great for character education, a conversation about God and perfection... or just to give a geometry lesson a whole new twist!
