Great Quick Read on P-38 Aces
If you like the P-38 (but don't know much about the plane) I would recommend reading a book written about the aircraft first. Once you have done that - this book is a great way to get to know the aces who flew these planes as well as their statistics. The book was very detailed regarding dates, types of enemy aircraft encountered, and total "kills". Usually, the P-38 is heavily discussed regarding its involvement in the PTO, so it was nice to read details regarding Europe and North Africa. All I can say is... wish they had put Rolls Royce engines in this baby!

Good Book
Well written and interesting. Somewhat short in the pluses and minuses of the various P38 models as they became available and in the general impact of the P38, especially in the MTO. Worth the money. A 'Buy' Recommendation.

Right Book / Wrong Theatre
I'm sure the book is fine. I didn't notice when I ordered it that it was for the wrong theatre for my purposes.

Boring and tedious
I have many Aircrft of the Aces books. This one was one of the few I could not finish. No information whatsoever on the performance aspects of the P-38 or how it compares to the Luftwaffe aircraft it faced. Just boring tedious accounts of day to day operations of indiviuals and units. It gets to the point where they just blur into each other.I would give it one star, but the illustrations are good as reference material for the modeller.
