A lot of Hoover for your money!
You don't realise how rubbish your old vacuum is until you get a good one. And that's exactly what happened to us! We have had a Henry for quite a while and this seemed to be doing a great job, but in an effort to stop using bags we wanted to look for an alternative. We came across the H-Lift 700 Pets XL and went all in (purchased at £170) as we didn't have Dyson money to spend, and the feature set looked perfect for us. Well, let me tell you, that first vacuum session after it arrived was eye opening! After putting the Hoover together, which was incredibly easy by the way, and running this round the first half of the room I was astounded and what this thing was picking up! You think you have everything clean until something like this comes along. We had to empty the bin several times during our excursion through the house, making up for years of cleaning missed by our poor little Henry. He really had his work cut out for him poor little guy. The vacuum itself is easy to manoeuvre in it's upright form, with movement forward helped by the spinning brushes. But if you need to get underneath some furniture, or just find it too heavy to move like this, you can take the main body off and just use the stick. My wife found this particularly useful especially as she is 37 weeks pregnant! And for those edges, corners and hard to reach places, the house detaches from the stick to enable you to use the many tools provided for all such nooks and crannys. It's simple to use, it's mighty powerful, and so far we have thoroughly enjoyed how much cleaner our carpets have been. And for the price, this is a perfect buy for any family looking to replace an old vacuum.

Powerful hoover
This is an incredibly powerful hoover, the amount of dirt it picked up from my living room rug despite the fact it is hoovered every day was amazing. It has a large amount of attachments and I like the way you can pull it apart to use it in a different way. Its very quiet given its size and this is definitely a bonus. This cord it long enough to hoover our entire bungalow and you can find an attachment for any job. It picks up pet hair really well and we have two long hair cats so I was really pleased about this. However there are a few downsides. This hoover is so heavy its borderline not useable, my arm aches from using it and I have to swap arms, I can't do the whole bungalow in one go - it's too heavy - this is a major downside for me. The tube at the back sticks out too much - its gets in the way and some of the attachments fall off when put in their spot - These are just minor issues. I would recommend this hoover, it's really powerful, however just bear in mind - its heavy.

Great !
Wow, have always used a dyson, but this product exceeded my expectations. Easy to manouvre, lots of additional tools, great attachment for pet hair, easy to dismantle for hand held element. Most impressive suction, gets down deep into the carpet fibres, lifts all dust / hair (you won't believe the amount of dust...) For the price, it is probably the best in the market on comparison. Highly recommend. Scored 4 on the weight as like all modern hoover's that have the removable hand held, can feel a little heavy on the push, but it is not as heavy as the Dyson. I love it, it's a really great hoover.

Year old and ready for the bin
So just over a year ago I purchased this item to replace my aging vacuum, Initially very impressed with the suction and despite being a bit heavy it was quite good to use. After a while I started to notice problems. 1, There are several points in the run from collection to bin where clogs can occur, so every couple of uses i have to clean the tubes of dog hair (yes it was the pet version that i bought to try and eliminate this issue) 2, At the point where the tube meets the bin it goes through 2 90deg turns and then the opening into the bin is small so is forever getting clogged at this point. (make sure that you have something that goes round corners to poke out the blockages) 3, When you empty the container because the top near the filter is so small you get a collection at this point and have to take it apart to clear. 4, The extension tubes just push in and do not lock in place, so expect these to fall out a few times when trying to reach high places. 5, The pet brush for the extension again just pushes on so makes it next to useless as everytime you try to push against something it will fall off (now sitting in a cupboard for over 6m) 6, To top it all off after just over a year the motor for the brush head has decided to pack up, and the cost of replacement, well i was offered a 25% discount as it is just outside of warranty, comes at £59.99 as they dont sell just the motor (so £79.99 if your not lucky and this is almost 50% of the cost of the machine new) The rubber band connecting the motor still looks like new so at least i don't need one of those.. 7, The weight of the machine is quite something, even when you take it apart to do the stairs it is still quite a hefty item. (my wife makes me do the stairs every time and even when its her turn i have to lug the machine upstairs for her, yes she can do it but just hates it) So to summarise, if you want a vacuum that will work well for a bit, then fail after a year, you enjoy cleaning your cleaner and you like lifting weights then this is the machine for you (well for about a year anyway)

Great hoover
I love this vacuum. The 3 in 1 functionality makes it easy to to the harder to reach areas like stairs and ceilings. I like how you can lift the cylinder out to make it lighter when vacuuming which is important as we have really thick carpets, and it makes it easy to can vacuum the stairs. The long lead it great for getting around, and the rolling brush bar helps with maneuverability. Downsides, the brush bar turns off every so often for no apparent reason, and the holders for the tools aren't great so the tools fall off as you are vacuuming, so now I just keep them all in the bag provided instead.

Brilliant but heavy
I bought this for my mum as her Dyson had given up the ghost. It's a really good price and absolutely brilliant suction made the Dyson look like a broom It's adaptable for stairs has a lift away action. But boy is it heavy to push. My mum is only tiny just like a little bird, needless to say I have been employed as a Hoover pusher! As far as suction goes it's very very good. I will go so far as to say on par with the shark. Makes a Dyson obsolete. It's very simple to put together. It arrived really well packaged. My only concern is the weight. If you have a very thick pile carpet, you may well struggle to push it!

Love the hoover, bad points are only minor!
The suction is brilliant for carpets or hard floors. Pressing the carpet button on the Hoover nearly moved along the carpet by itself (although it makes it go from a quiet hoover to a fairly loud one). It had been 1 day since I’d last hoovered when I tested it for the first time and it picked up twice as much than my old Hoover even though it had been 3 days before that hoover (it was half the price of this one but at only 2 months old you wouldn’t have expected to see so much difference)! It’s got lots of bits you can attach to hoover all different crevices. Only thing with that is how to attach the mini pet hair thing, it took a good 10 mins to work that out!! The other downside is that it is heavy, however the main heavy part of the Hoover has an easy to detach mechanism so it can be very lightweight if you’re doing stairs and easier to get it under tables and tight spots without having to get the extra attachments out.

Great suction but too heavy and poor tools
I had to struggle to fit a number of the attachment on the hoover. The suction this product is second to none, however, you definitely need to do a few passes, firstly because the hoover is soooo heavy so, you're struggling to maneuver it. Secondly, a few of the attachments get clogged easily, so you are forced to use the nozzles which take ages for a big clean or you work out your arms and move this hoover back and forth. The carpet function is very effective, however, its really loud and makes the most irritating noise. I had no issues using it around the house on my sofa and bed and also cleaning out the air filter/ extractors, however they could do with an attachment with a bend to make the job easier. The extension cord is really long, and one of the best features. Emptying the rubbish is easy enough task, however, parts can be difficult to take apart for a big clean.
