My Trane AC system had a bad capacitor...but since it was installed in 2009, I figured that I would replace the contactor too. There's really not much to your outside AC unit...a compressor, a coil, circuit board, contactor and capacitor. So, I figured I would just replace both to prevent a future failure. It worked perfectly. For $30 I fixed my outside AC unit. It was an exact fit, easily replaced and a good value. It looks durable, but only time will tell.

Last summer, AC compressor wouldn’t start. Replaced the start/run capacitor. Also replaced the contactor while I was in there with this unit. System fired right up. That was 9 months ago and it’s been running fine since.

Contactor works well. Easy to install. Seems pretty universal.

This contactor was an exact fit for my Carrier unit. Seems to be same quality as original. It has been working fine now for a month. One thing to note is that the main lugs wont hold the heavy gauge main power wire as they are just screws. I needed to move the screws and square washers from old contactor to get a solid secure connection.

Cheaply made. Came apart when I tried to uninstall it. Back to original.

Came broken, spent time trying to fix myself and not have a costly repair. Still had to pay the service fee for someone to tell me that it didn't work.

Quality is good! Works fine in my heat pump.
