Can I use it on the wall for vertical pipe?

Sure, the PVC can be glued to a 4” schedule 40 pvc pipe so you can certainly use it as an access point.

What is the pipe size? One description has 4", the other has 3". I have an existing 4" cleanout.

The part number extension shows the pipe size. The description is wrong. -ab4 means ABS 4" pipe and -pv3 means PVC 3 inch pipe. etc.

what is the diameter of the cover plate?

I believe that the description says 5'' for the 4" PVC

faites attention aux commentaires a propos des mesures 4 pouces.... certain ne comprennent peuetre pas qu'il y a divers type de tuyau en plomberie et que les diametres exterieur différes. cet adaptateur est en PVC femelle et fonctionne sur les conduit PVC ou ABS de 4 pouces si utilisé sur ABS, doit se fixer avec colle de transition PVC-ABS. Zurn en brass solide et marque reconnu en plomberie. trés satisfait

Covers the drain hole by the pool

We weren’t able to use the pvc pipe as the hole was irregular but the brass part worked perfect. We’re basically just covering up a drain hole in the pool decking.
