Good trail shoes
I got these for walks/short hikes on trails and they held up great. I was a little skeptical at first because they weren’t exactly what I was looking for, for a trail shoe, but the other great reviews lead me to pull the trigger on them and I’m glad I did. Right out of the box they’re comfortable so I was eager to take them out for a real test. I wore them out for about an hour or so walking on gravel, rock, grass, weed, you name it, my foot was protected the whole time and my feet never once ached. During my outing it began to pour down rain so I did some running back to my vehicle and these shoes never gave out once so I didn’t have to worry about slipping as they have great traction. You can wear them with or without socks but if you choose to wear a sock use a thin one, I believe these were designed with the intention of being worn sock less it’s just my personal preference to use one, especially if you’re hiking some rock and sand can find its way into the shoe. They’re not the most fashionable shoes in my opinion but I’m okay with that because I purchased them for function and not display. Great quality for the price also! True to size.

Great Shoes, Super Grip, Probably not for Martial Arts
i wanted to get back into martial arts, but walking around barefoot isn't really an option for me any more. somehow, i keep beating up my arches and getting fibromas. so i wanted a 'barefoot' shoe with arch support. first, i tried wrestling shoes. some reviews said they were good for ankle support doing kicks, etc. i did not like them, and i wasn't able to do yoga in them because of the restrictive ankles. from the moment i put these on, my feet were in heaven! i forget i'm even wearing them! they have soft insoles and arch support so that my fibromas don't bother me. they're snug and breathable (though a tad warm). the grip is INSANE. in fact, i don't think they are suitable for martial arts, because you can't shift your feet in them very easily. i'm afraid i'll rip my knee out if i try. i haven't tried them outside, as i meant for them to be indoor-only. but i want to get another pair to wear outside. (i usually wear waterpoof breathable hiking boots when going outside.) if you're curious about details like i am... the footbox is wide and comfortable. there are individual toe-bumpers on the front, but there are NOT individual toe sections inside. the toes do not spread and bend with each individual toe. since i've worn hiking boots for the past few decades, i was not used to the low cut, and thought it would chafe my achilles. however, it has NOT.

A great hiking shoe for soft or paved trails
These are great hiking shoes. I’ve been wearing these around the house to get acclimated and they are extremely comfortable. I wanted to see how they would be on a trail. I just did a challenging 3.6 mile hike at Catawba Falls in North Carolina. The shoes did very well on the trail. Also, I needed to cross a creek and do some minor climbing and these were perfect. You can move your toes/feet to grip. The only downside is that if the trail has lots of rocks or gravel, you can feel them. They still provide cushion and support, but it may be uncomfortable if it’s a long stint of rocky terrain. For me, these are great and help with balance. They’re very lightweight and have a wide toe box. Not the most attractive shoe but who cares when you’re in need comfort and support. I recommend these if you’re hiking on a well-worn dirt trail or paved trail.

Take a Little While to Get Used To--Then Marvelous!--Bought a second pair!
At first, as a Sketchers Arch Support wearer, they were difficult to get used to. I am 75 and have a pronated right foot and weak arches. I thought I'd made a mistake buying them but have discovered that wearing totally supported shoes have emprisioned my feet and made them weaker. The Joomra shoes have a wide enough toe area to wear silicone toe separators!!!! I am thrilled! My left foot toes are crimped and now I can comfortably wear toes separators without pain or sandals. The foot bed now feels to be gently massaging my foot when I walk. Am taking them to Europe with me, but will not use them for long walks on hard pavement because they do not have enough support for me. I use them now around the house and garden, working out, and shopping.... Update August 1, 2024: Have been wearing them in Portugal practically every day. I've added an additional insole underneath the one that came with the Joomras which has made them so much more comfortable. I can now go on long walks without getting tired feet. One thing I've noticed is that my feet are a lot less tense because my toes can spread out now. The hammer toes on my left foot have even started to relax and flatten more. I also like hat I don't have to lace up the shoes and can just slip them on and then don't even have to pull the tightening chord to wear them comfortably. They also do not slip on the shiny, worn cobblestones here.... They stay cool, wear well in beach sand, and are easy to clean. I would definitely buy them again. Please note: I am NOT a paid reviewer...I am continuing to update this review because I think it might help others with problem feet. Update Sept. 30, 2024: Just machine washed my Joomras in hot water on a 2 1/2 hr. cycle. They came out looking and smelling great. I wear them every day b/c they are so comfortable. I especially like that they are easy to put on and tighten without having to tie shoelaces. Unfortunately, one of the pull on loops at the heel broke and I will have to sew it back on as it is hanging there. This is not a game changer.... Update: Oct 18, 2024: Washed my Joomras a second time and they still look like they just came out of the the box. I wear them every day now. They remind me of the padded moccasins I loved wearing 60 years ago! Update Oct. 24, 2024; you probably think I'm crazy to keep updating my review...but I just love these Joomra's so much I want to let everyone know my experience over time. I FORGOT TO NOTE THAT THE JOOMRAS ACTUALLY MAKE MY SIZE 11 N-M FEET LOOK SMALL AND TRENDY. Really, I'm 5'9" tall and 160lbs ...was worried that the size 11 would make my feet look big...like so many shoes I've worn. I have "Greek toes" (Big toe longest sloping to a tiny piinky). So nice and roomy even with socks! My feet really relax in them and I feel so grounded! I have read some of the negative reviews, and would agree that they are not the best for running...but walking on a firm surface is great. The extra insole I added underneath the one that came with them have made them super comfortable. They are certainly not like water shoes....they are much more supportive and not floppy or slippy at all....they also do not leak. They are not cheap material...I've washed them 2x now on long cycles with very hot water and they still are holding up fine. If I were back in the states I would definitely buy another pair because they are on sale now! December 18, 2024 update: I'm back in the US. There's snow and ice outside my house in the Catskill woods but I am still wearing my Joomras around the house to keep my feet warm. I have to say that they are vastly more comfortable and durable than my too quickly worn out LL Bean sheepskin lined mocs...that are now threadbare and flat as pancakes. The Joomras are still almost like new. The only thing I am not happy with (as mentioned above) is the pull loop at the heel broke on both...but I did pull too hard I guess... On a final note....I met a woman in Lisbon who told me that the reason she moved to Malaga Spain rather than Portugal is because she had a friend who slipped on the ubiquitous polished pavers and she was terrified of same. I used to slip on them too until I got my Joomras; but I don't have to worry about that anymore or slipping anywhere in the house (I'm 76 now). Am thinking now of wearing them to my gym work out.... Update: April 1, 2025 Joomras are definitely for warm days only....because they are incredibly well ventilated. I have tried to wear them as slippers around my cabin this winter (30-50 degrees F.)..but my feet freeze (in all fairness I have Hashimotos). I can put wool socks on but there is really no space for my toes then. Am thinking of buying my next pair a size larger...but that would land me in a size 12...which might make me look like bozo....Wish they came in half sizes.... P.S. They work really well at the gym! Ordered new Joomras in size 11-11.5.(43)..didn't realize my beloved greys only come 10.5-11. I was sent a black pair which are completely different from the pair I've been wearing. The size 43 does not have the lovely breathable crochet material, have a stiff velcro closure which is awkward to use, and a stretchy pull lace They fit ok but they are ugly---don't buy the Black 43! In the attached picture you can see my old ones on the left and the new black ones on the right. Notice how the old ones have held up. Update May 19th. Just got my new Joomras for the summer. Love the color! The old Joomras have expanded a bit but are still terrific and look almost new even though I've worn themb all last Summer and Fall and now in the Spring. A note of caution--don't buy the Joomras with the Velcro strap closing. It is badly designed. The pull cord works really well. Update July 25, 2025. Along with the new dark camel Joomras I'm taking the old Joomras to Portugal this summer because I like the color so much. Got an insert with an arch support. Notice the cloth on the sole interior is worn away from wearing them so much. Treads still like new. Update: March 16, 2026 --Have been wearing my original Joomras (purchased in 2024) around the house as slippers, to the gym, and on walks. They have held up fantastically! The tred is like new. They go with everything--best color. They really get better and more comfortable with time! I adore them...otherwise I wouldn't bother with these reviews... On a lqast note...they are marvelous for hammer toes and bunions. June 2026. Still wearing my 2024 Joomras everyday now that it is warm(my 2025 camel ones were left in Portugal). Joomras are practically the only shoes I wear now. When I put on my Sketchers Arch Support my feet rebel and I feel like they are encased in cement. Recently the little velcro patches that secure the draw ties lost their stickiness--no big deal, I just tuck them under the forward lace. I am planning to buy another pair in the original blue grey that goes so well with my blue jeans (and everything else!). I am hoping to get them in a half size larger b/c the 10/2-11 has always been a touch too small. To all you Joomra wearers out there "Happy Feet to you!" Update: July 21, 2026. Still wearing my original Joomras from March 2024...except for a broken pull tab at heal and worn out velchro closure they look and feel almost like new. I wear them for intensive yard work on my rocky uneven land here in the Catskills, paint in them, walk through my stream, etc. The tread has really held up. See the comparison photos of my old Joomras (left) and my new Joomras (bought June 2026). The side view is of the old Joomras. I believe you can see that there is very little difference... Will wear the new Joomras to Portugal this summer where my camel ones are waiting...

Super comfy! Definitely buying some more!
I have wide feet and high arches and these shoes are by far the most comfortable shoes I have ever put my feet in. I was barefoot for the majority of my childhood and most of my young adult life I wore converse or flats. Any time I try to wear tennis shoes my feet and calves cramp and I can only wear them for a very short time. A family member gave me some hokas not too long ago and while they are comfy, I find that my feet slide off their super thick sole if I wear them on uneven ground. We have a small homestead and I work outside all day every day and I had just started wearing sandals or swim shoes to work outside in because all my other shoes were very uncomfortable. I ordered these because I felt like they were a cross between a swim shoe and tennis shoes, they had a wide toe box for my wide feet, and they looked easy to slip off and on. They have met or exceeded every expectation! I've had no problem with my feet slipping and sliding around in the shoe. The sole is thick enough that walking on rocks doesn't hurt my heels, which has been a problem with my swim shoes and sandals. 2 years ago I stepped on a rock and bruised my heel so bad that it hurt constantly for a solid year. I do NOT want to do that again. I'm on my feet all day every day and the majority of that time is spent on rock so I definitely need a good sole. These shoes are great at offering the protection I need without having a big bulky sole, plus they offer the perfect amount of support my feet need and are still flexible enough to make walking on uneven ground easy. I really can't wait to test these out when we go huckleberry hunting. I always wear my swim shoes when we go because I usually wind up climbing up a steep hillside several times in search of an untouched patch of huckles. The tread on the sole looks incredibly grippy and I'm hoping that is the case.... we will see very soon if they are! I can't wait to put them to the test. These are so comfortable and I really bought them to be my designated work shoes but I'm probably going to buy another pair or two in different colors. I got the blue ones and they are very bright, I love the color but they don't match much of my wardrobe. So I'll probably order some in a more neutral color for going to town. The first day I had them I wore them without socks, which was what I hoped to be able to do, however, since I don't really wear "real" shoes very often, they were starting to rub my heel. I have been wearing some light low cut socks and that solved that problem. Not sure if it was the shoe or if it was my heel, but everything is good now that I am wearing socks. Time will tell on how durable these shoes are, but rest assured I will be putting them through the wringer. They feel very durable, hopefully they will last me a long time. I really like them so far and want some more!

Well made shoe without the wide toe space
I really wanted to like these shoes! I have another pair of barefoot shoes and have gained so much balance and mobility in my feet and ankles that I wanted to add another pair. I tried these (not my original brand) because they seemed to have all the attributes I was looking for, plus a little thicker sole to support my feet during outdoor activities. They arrived quickly, looked great and I put them on. I was so disappointed - they were too small! The thicker sole - while I hoped would be a plus- seems to curve up around the toes, preventing the wide spread that barefoot shoes are known for. It actually crowded the toes. The fit of the rest of the shoes, from ankle to ball of the foot, seemed fine. Comfortable. But the fit around the toes simply wouldn’t be comfortable, so I have to return them. I may try a larger size to see if that works, but not certain at this point. I have a three star rating because the shoes are well made, sturdy, attractive. If the wide toe fit isn’t what you are looking for, this would be a great shoe.

Very comfortable and fantastic price!
I just took these shoes out of the box and put them on my feet and I am amazed at the comfort! There’s no restriction across my big toe, which has severe arthritis. There’s is enough support to walk, but you feel like you’re barefoot! I could easily wear these all day if it wasn’t 91 degrees outside. I’ve been looking for years for a pair of shoes that doesn’t hurt my foot across the top and even my $175 New Balances don’t fit properly enough that I could wear them for more than a couple of hours. For the price, these are amazing. I got the white and my husband said, “Wow, those are bright!” I think I’ll wear them enough to dirty them up a bit, but I wanted white. Highly recommend.

Great Fit
I found a pair of these brand new in a thrift store. Loved them so much I wanted to get more pairs. I ordered these and love them just as much. They are comfortable enough to wear all day with just the right amount of cushion. The sizing is fantastic. I wear a 6 1/2 when the toe is wide enough and the instep is tall enough, but usually have to size up to get a decent fit. But then, they are too long. I ordered the 6 1/2 - 7 size and they fit well everywhere. Even in the length. The width is great, too. They're nice and wide and the instep doesn't hurt my feet. I will probably buy another pair in light blue.

Great barefoot walkers
Comfortable, slightly padded WOMEN's barefoot style shoe. I bought my normal size listed as 6.5-7 which is marked on the shoe and fits as an EU37. Very happy. Review ADD ON: I also bought my husband a pair of these shoes listed as RED/KNIT Size 9-9.5. He normally wears a MENS 7-7.5. The shoes are marked as EU40 and fit him perfectly.
