Until I laid eyes on this deck, the Golden Art Nouveau Tarot. I have a lot of tarot decks. Two things I look for in a deck. 1. Is it easy to read and based on the Rider Waite deck or follows the Thoth tarot. 2. Is the art attractive and engages me in the images. This deck answers both those questions with a resounding YES! The deck is astoundingly attractive and every card is accented with gold foil to varying degrees. The pictures are very close to the Rider Waite without actually being a clone deck; this means it's familiar and easy to read yet refreshing at the same time. The card stock is pretty good too, something I don't find is always true with Lo Scarabeo decks. The card stock is thin but flexible and resilient, it will be good for those who like to riffle shuffle and should last a good while. I wouldn't hesitate to use this deck with clients - it's rare that I feel a surge of excitement when I see a new tarot deck but this one managed to illicit that response.
