Vetoquinol Dentahex Pet Oral Hygiene Rinse, 8oz

My dog started "smacking" his lips a lot. I peeked at his gums and one section was red and inflamed and another on a was also quite red. We've an appointment to see the vet, but this has been helpful to keep him comfortable and keep the area clean in the meantime. I've only been using it for a few days, so too soon to tell if it whitens. You get a lot for the money and to use I poured some into a tiny spray bottle so it's easier to use and apply to his gum line, it helps a lot.

This definitely has a made a difference in our senior pup ! Vet recommended. Use a gauze with some of this solution rub on my dogs teeth and gums. It helps kill off the bacteria for sure ! Has been big improvement considering my pup is too old for tooth removal.

I've already seen improvement with color and breath, but they really need a non mint flavored one. My cats won't take the mint at all, luckily my dog will. I do brush as well, but this is doing more than brushing with enzyme toothpaste

Day 3 and my senior girl's bad breath is cured! I have a 9 yo boxer who has gingival hyperplasia which causes TERRIBLE breath and mouth bleeding. The vet told me to try an oral rinse and I came across dentahex and figured I'd give it a try. Day 3 and her terrible breath is literally gone! She doesn't appreciate doing it at all tho but my 8 month old boxer loves it! I decided to start him off young so he doesn't fight me as he gets older. I say give it a shot if your baby has gawd awful fish odor breath. I am pleased.

I didn’t know I needed to brush my new puppy’s teeth until I noticed she had pretty bad breath. Her back teeth had some tartar buildup and gums would bleed. It’s been a few weeks now of using this product along with brushing every other day and her breath is much better and gums are almost normal. So thankful I found this product and avoided costly vet bills.

I would have given 5 stars if the flavor could be something far more logical for a cat. Something like tuna, chicken or beef flavors. I understand that pets have issues with bad breath but more often than not it is due to rotting teeth/cavities. And, so the teeth need to be pulled and/or cleaned to resolve the odor. A mint flavor is repulsive to my cats & I hate seeing how they react to the taste. However, I do like how this product as it helps to remove food debris from their gums and teeth. I haven't used it long enough to see any results but will try to remember to update. I'm planning to take my cats in for a cleaning and so according to other reviews I am hoping this product will help prevent having to place my cats under anesthesia for cleanings as they are now considered "mature" in age (9-10.5 yrs old). Update: my cats still HATE the taste and it's a fight to use it on their teeth and gums. However, along with using PlaqueOff this product has been helping to release/remove tartar build up... slowly but it IS helping. I use a cotton round, fold it in half, pour some solution on the pad & wipe their teeth and yellow stuff does come off. When I used just water on the cotton round nothing came off and so I assume this solution is helping. Still, can't give more stars due to the mint flavor (and artificial coloring).

You use this on a toothbrush after you have used the dog toothpaste my veterinarian highly recommend this product. Don’t forget to use the toothpaste and brush the teeth first, and then you can wet the toothbrush with this liquid and brush it on as best as you can, obviously the docs cannot rinse with it.
