I have had mine for 2 years doing it this way. Still no smell at all, its kinda amazing. Lol. I run 2 in my bloom, vented out of the room. 1000cfm+ on both and both run 24/7. **Q: Is it ok to run your 10 inch blower on this filter? Fan rated 1065 cfm and filter rated for 1000.** A: Yes, they will work great together **Q: Does the prefilter only go on the outside of the filter?** A: Yes. But if you have a clean environment you don't really need it. Make sure you get the proper cfm rated in-line fan to match your filter. You can find a good fan here at a great price. Try not to buy into the hype. This is a great filter. I have 6 of them. Good luck, and stay safe. **Q: Is this filter light proof?** A: I'm going to have to say yes, not sure the specs on it from the manufacturer but I have no light coming through.
