1-2-3 Draw Horses

This book has now been through 3 of my children as it being passed down to my youngest... it has held up well...although I am very particular about how books are cared for in our home... still after 3 boys I might add it has held up well an because it is simple and clear the kids have all been encouraged to use it!

I bought this for my grandbaby because she loves horses and drawing.......so it was a no-brainer. I was especially pleased because it is for her age group, she is 7 years old and her mother is a stickler about buying age appropriate gifts no matter what. The book starts off with a basic drawing and the techniques and as the book proceeds, the techniques get more in depth but still doable. Great gift.

This is not my first purchase of this book. I recently bought it as a gift for a little girl who loves to draw, but whose horses needed some adjusting. :) The difference in her drawings after following the directions in this book (my daughter's copy) were amazing. It made a great birthday present!

I purchased 1-2-3- Draw Horses for my six years old DD. The day the book arrived, she immediately sat down and started drawing horses. The next day, DD started to extrapolate the method to draw and copy the poses of her horse miniatures. I chose this book because the methods look simple and achievable plus the price was good. This book suits the needs of my family.

The simpler style in this horse drawing book is much easier for young / new drawers to follow producing a higher level of confidence. When first learning to draw horses I would recommend this book to even professional artists. The horse, like the human figure, can be challenging. This book provides a good baseline to start with and eventually transition to drawing more realistic horses later on.

Love this book! The step by step directions make it easy for children to draw and encourages them to keep trying!

My grand daughter and I used the book to draw several of the horses. She is a little young as she just turned 6, but as her small motor skills develop she is going to see progress with her drawings. The book keeps it very simple and the end product did look like a horse each time we drew a new picture. It is the perfect book for an aspiring artist who loves horses. You may want to wait until they are 7 or older.

My 8 year old granddaughter loved receiving this along with 1-2-3 Draw Dogs. She is always drawing horses and dogs. She found both fun to use and helpful. The step by step directions were easy for her to understand and use. She then went on to add her own creative touches.
