Presto Salad Shooter Electric Slicer/Shredder,White

My mother in law gave me her salad shooter 35 years ago. She just didn't use it. We eat allot of cheese in this house! And I used that shooter for 34 years! Also used on potatoes, but mainly cheese. I was so sad when the motor finally gave out. So fine.... used the kitchen aid grater we had. Lasted about a year. Plus the cheese stuck inside which was annoying. If you use that, you know. Was actually glad it broke! New salad shooter was only thing I wanted. So far, so good! 34 years? Idk lol. But it grater my cheese like nobody's business! Very happy!

Replaced a Presto Salad Shooter that was probably 30 years old, but finally wore out. Old attachments still fit, so it hasn't changed much, which is a good thing. Used mostly for grating cheese. Reliable appliance.

This salad shooter really is nice. I had one that lasted 15 years and finally broke. So I got this one and let me say it does the job very well. Super easy to use and clean.

I went through several different cheese graters from different sites, and returned all. This salad shooter also stated you could use to grate cheese, and it does. It is a slow process, and a little cumbersome holding the heater above the bowl for an extended length of time to grate all of my mozzarella cheese I was making. During process it needed to cool off a few times. So, it works, easy enough; I’m just not sure it’s going to last very long. We’ll see. Although it has worked good enough, I would not recommend it for a lot of cheese processing like I’ve been doing. Best used as a Salad Shooter.

This was a wedding shower gift so I can't review this particular one. However, I've had a salad shooter since they were the new kid on the block and absolutely love it. They have upgraded the look of the body but the cones are the same. It comes with 2 cones, a medium shredder and a slicer. You can find additional cones for purchase so I added 2 extra cones to the gift, both fine shred and large shred. I wish there was a thicker cut slicing cone but so far I haven't found one. My mother slices a lot of her veggies for vegetable soup with this versatile appliance, while I primarily shred cheese and carrots. When it comes to cleaning, an old toothbrush is your friend, cleaning the holes in the cone without shredding your sponge or cloth. The faster you wash the parts, the easier to clean. Cheese can be tough but if you rinse in hot water first, it seems to melt away. Do not leave the cones sitting in very soapy and hot water for an extended period of time. I learned this the hard way. Other than the cutting surface and the motor, this is primarily plastic. Eventually, it gets brittle but it takes a long time. Mine is yellowing somewhat, and the cord is getting stiff. I lost cones because I soaked them, over and over, and it shortened their shelf life. It's a real work horse. I can shred massive amounts of zucchini, carrots and cheese quickly and efficiently, wash up in about 5 minutes and move on. I can't live without mine. It makes food prep much easier.

Great shredder. We have saved ourselves a lot of money by buying blocks of cheese instead of prepackaged. It last longer.

If there was an option for 0 stars I would rate it as that. Bought this product, on first use within 30 seconds of grating cheese the grater caught alight, filled my kitchen with smoke. Very dangerous, should not be being sold!!! I’m unable to return as we got rid of the original packaging, so I’m also £50 down. Awful product.

This is the best cheese grater ever. Second one I bought as I use it so much. Grapes cheese in seconds. Convenient and easy to use

A bit pricey but it works great. I so far have only used it for grating hard cheese. So easy to use. Great if you have arthritis in your hands. I would recommend this to anyone.
