Crayola Chalk 12ct

The product is great. The writing on the chalkboard is really smooth and bright. The only problem I had was that the sticks were all broke when I got them in the mail.

The product is fine. The method of shipping is the problem. Two boxes of chalk placed loosely in a mailing bag. One box open and all the chalk broken. The other box was closed but 2 pieces broken.

This chalk is so much better than other brands I have tried. There is a point on these that allow my kids to draw with a little more precision. Also, they do not crumble as a lot of other brands do!

I play in a dart league and our home bar has chalk boards for scoring on. Anyone in the bar is allowed to use the boards, so sometimes we'll end up having to keep score with little nubs of chalk that can barely be held with the tips of your fingers. One evening I was scoring a game with one such nub in my hand when I realized my phone was in my pocket. I quickly one-click bought this box of chalk with my Left Hand! while doing Math! with my right hand! What a crazy time in my life to multitask like that! When this box of chalk arrived at my doorstep two days later, it looked like it had been dropped on one corner as the two end pieces were snapped in half. However half pieces are better than nubs! I brought them to the next dart match and they worked perfectly at writing numbers on a chalkboard! Our team went on the road to play 3 of the next 4 matches so the chalk wasn't useful then. We played decently but did not finish as strongly as we would have liked. I suspect this is not due to the performance of the chalk as the chalk was left at home. For our first (and only) match in the playoffs, we were the home team and once again brought out the trusted Crayola An Du Septic Anti-Dust Chalk! We were clearly able to read the scores on the chalkboard, check each others Math! and verify that we had lost the match :(

This box of 12 sticks of chalk arrived in a box almost as big as a shoe box and with zero packing material. Amazingly, only one piece was broken but I'm not at all surprised to see pics of broken pieces in other reviews. That aside, the chalk itself is fine. The pieces are slightly shorter than I was expecting at about 3", but I am honestly not sure if that's the standard size these days or not; I haven't used chalk in decades. It isn't very dusty, writes smoothly and erases well. I grabbed it on sale, so the price was good too.

Chalk sticks (White) seem to be getting hard to come by lately. But then there is always our trusted Amazon with someone selling it. And at a reasonable price. Thank you Works like the kind I used fifty years ago in school on the black boards. Erases well with a standard Chalk eraser too. Two were cracked in half in the package that arrived in one day. No worries, I broke many a sticks just screeching the boards in class. If? you should ever need any, order these, they are very good.

At first, I was quite disappointed that I could not purchase just one piece of chalk, as I did not see a need for all 12 pieces. I work in a small town with a population under 3,000 where I serve as the local sheriff. I have just two deputies beneath me and there really isn't much of a crime problem. Recently, we had the unfortunate occurrence of a homicide in our little town. We needed a way to mark where the body was at and the chalk at our local grocer was just so darned expensive, and only came in packs of 64. This was just too much, so the department turned to Amazon Prime and its quick shipping. We were very impressed by the speed of the delivery, as we only had to have the deputies stand watch over the dead body for a couple of days before the chalk came in. The packaging was very neat and clean and we were immediately pleased. We took the chalk to the crime scene and outlined the body with great ease. The chalk was very bright on the black asphalt and was very visible in all of our pictures. We've always had confidence in the Crayola Company and this was no different. The chalk held up quite well, and despite the fact that the victim was well over 500 pounds in weight, we only needed about a quarter of a piece of chalk to outline the body. I cannot put into words just how stunning the outline turned out. In fact, the deputy that did the outline may have found a new love in chalk art and is now debating about leaving the department. We are all happy for him, but we will miss Sal if he decides to pursue his dreams. As a gift, the department donated the other 11 pieces of chalk to his emerging passion, so in the end, ordering the 12 pack was a great idea. We are considering ordering another pack, but we still have 3/4 of our original piece left and after having done some research we found that chalk has quite a long shelf life. We keep it in our safe now just in case our town has to go through such a dreadful experience again. Crayola truly did help ease the pain of the family as well. The chalk outline lasted for over two weeks until we got a heavy rain. The family was very appreciative to have a place to mourn. We haven't solved the murder yet, but we have solved our chalk problem. Thank you Crayola, for changing lives every day.
