In reality, it does have many small sprays like a sprinkler, but we just keep the hose turned way down so the water only sprays a foot or two high, and my kids love it.I had some trouble getting the included connector attached to the splash pad, but now that it's on, it's very simple to attach and detach from our garden hose.
