Flaming hot goodness.
Let me tell you about these here. Just great! I love em'. It's probably unhealthy for me to eat more than one pack a week but what was a challenge turned into an everyday meal for comfort. They're indeed spicy, maybe not as much as I wished they were but they'll surely leave a lasting impression in your mouth. I think the price is a bit to high for a 5 pack of noodles, if they were a 10 pack yes but not 5 definitely not something I'd like to keep buying back to back like I'd have want to. So in terms of money its a luke warm, meh. Could be better, but it's not bad especially since it's my first time experiencing them in person. The heat is very nice and yes it has a flavor and that flavor is not just spicy, it's rather difficukt to identify when your mouth is set ablaze but it is there and I can almost describe it as sweet initially almost savory. Good taste, as a person who likes spicy food a good job was done here.Presentation wise, I don't think I care. They're a pack of instant ramen noodles. You'd think I care about the package they came in..... Pffft yes I would. Nice packaging. Definitely a hard plastic covering which, I don't know why, makes me feel secure about eating them. The noodles have a different noodle layering system compared to other instant Ramen brands and I love the clear instructions to STIR-FRY the noodles with the sauce. As they are ment to be eaten without a broth, so you shouldn't mix the liquid packet or the dry packet with to much water or you're just dilluting the actual flavor. And the noodles are also not supposed to be clear, if they are you over cooked them. They're ment to be almost chewy with a semi stiff texture. Not supper wiggly or super loose. Because then they'll retain nothing of the sauce.Overall, glad I bought them, very yummy and I'm happy to have eaten them. Will I buy again? Maybe in bulk. But about 8 dollars a pack is a turnoff from constant buying.

Spicy, but only for light weights
This ramen is the dividing line between people who go to a chain restaurant and think something labeled "spicy" is hot, and people who go to Indian and Thai Restaraunts and order "Asian hot, 5/5". People who can order the latter and get comfortably through the whole meal will find this pleasant. The chain restaurant eaters or those who order a "3/5 American hot" (and if you don't specify they typically default you to American hot) are gonna get blown away. I was interested in these after seeing various food challenges with these noodles. I tried them with my Jamaican husband, who is also used to spicy food. He couldn't get through more than a couple bites. I ate the whole thing without more than burning lips, and ate a second batch the next day. The second day I tossed in some onion, stir fried chicken, broccoli and Bok choy. Wonderful complete meal, although when you add the extra it dials down the heat somewhat. I adore this as a base for stir fry noodles.Good flavor, great heat, but if you're used to eating REALLY spicy food you're going to be disappointed with the hype. You can go to any number of ethic restaurants and get the same or hotter.BEWARE: the sauce stains, so be careful with it. We dropped some on our granite countertop and didn't notice for a few days, and now we are having trouble removing it.

A new favorite.
For those who love burn, but also love a sweet flavor, this is for you.Cook the noodles first, then add the flavor packet & sesame seed packet in the bowl with the nice thick noodles. The noodles are a bit chewy but that adds to the flavor quite a bit, and the flavor is what I want to elaborate on further. At this moment, about 5 minutes after eating, I can feel my lips and face starting to burn off. I add sriracha to just about every bowl of food I eat, so I'm glad to finally have the feeling back.First few bites are very sweet tasting, compared to most ramen it doesn't have a thick garlic or meat based taste. It's just sweet and decadent, I love it. But every bite you take only pushes the heat higher. To the point that, once you're done, you are covered in sweat and your lips are bright red. I'm used to spicy foods so this is really fun to have especially on cold days. Those who are spice-intolerant, for the love of your own sanity, beware! If you want something spicy but delicious, good old Nongshim Shin Ramyun or Shin Black will cater to your needs. But if you don't like spice, some Zha Wang or the like should be pretty good too. But this stuff will bless and melt your soul in ways you never thought you'd imagine.

Legitimately Delicious - Not Just A Novelty!
Though I'm a huge ramen fan, especially Korean instant noodles, I bought these purely for the novelty. The many YouTube "Challenge" videos featuring people eating these indicated there was no real flavor and it was just pure nearly unbearable heat. I love spicy food and was curious to see just how hot these really were.Cutting to the chase, yes they were really hot. As in Thai street food hot. I broke a sweat and had concerns about it possibly giving me indigestion (it didn't). It was not the spiciest food I've ever had but it was definitely up there. Certainly it was the spiciest off the shelf instant noodles I've tried, and by a very wide margin. However, they were also very very tasty. Tasty enough that it's a regular item in my pantry now. A very strong flavor and smell of sesame with a hint of sweet chili and chicken broth. It's not a nuanced subtle flavor but it's not meant to be.On the other end it was surprisingly not the epic ring of fire event I anticipated. Sure I could tell I had eaten something spicy the night before but it didn't cause gastrointestinal distress (unlike most novelty hot food and sauce).

Hot, but Not HOT
I'll preface this review by telling you that I have a pretty high tolerance to spicy food; pretty much the hotter, the better. For instance, when I order Pad Thai, i order it a 5 and still sometimes have to add more chili oil. So, take that into account when reading my review. Additionally, i prepared it per the directions (water drained) and ate it while still steaming for maximum effect. So, I'm sure if you're here reading reviews, it's either because you love spicy food or you want to torture yourself (or someone else) and you want to know if this ramen is all it's made out to be. The short answer: Not really - if you're like me. Don't get me wrong, it does have a little bit of a kick to it, but I was easily able to eat it all without taking a drink of anything. It was hot enough to make my forehead start to sweat just a little and make my lips tingle, but not what some of these other reviewers make it out to be.To me, the heat level is somewhere between a 3.5 and a 4 out of 5.Now, if you're someone who is not accustomed to spicy food (i.e. my wife - total spice weenie), then I'd imagine this ramen would probably be a bad idea as it seems to use chili oil instead of the powder stuff you usually get in spice packets. The difference is that the oil takes a bit of time to reach its maximum effect, and once it does, it's already soaked into your mouth and there's really not much you can do at that point (milk "helps"). If you aren't a spicy food person, I'd advise trying a few bites and then waiting a minute or two to assess things. Just my $.02.As far as the noodles and flavor, i rate it a 4. Overall it's pretty good, but I've had better tasting ramen. These are the thicker noodles, and while they taste okay, I personally like the thinner noodles better. I can't really describe the flavor very well, but overall I think it tastes pretty good. The little packet of toppings is probably going to be a personal preference; I personally could take it or leave it.So, overall, i think these are pretty good. At a little over $2 per pack I'll likely keep getting the stuff i like better, but might come back to these from time to time.

Really good and really spicy
This ramen is ridiculously spicy. I watched people doing the ramen challenge online and decided to give it a shot because it seemed interesting enough. They taste AMAZING, they just burn your mouth and lips a ton. I was unable to successfully complete the ‘ramen challenge’, which is to eat a whole package of these in one sitting without any milk or drink to cool it down. If you want to give the challenge a try, or simply enjoy spicy, flavorful ramen- this ramen is for you.It really does pack a punch, so when I’ve made these just to enjoy as a snack, I pour a huge glass of milk to cool it down. The flavor of this ramen is worth the immense burning, plus if you eat it while drinking milk every few bites, it’ll keep down the spice and let you enjoy the flavor. It still is very spicy with milk, but it helps.Overall these noodles are REALLY good, and I definitely recommend trying them out.

It hurts so good. Great flavor.
This is the BEST ramen I've ever had. I love spicy food, I normally cover my ramen in Sriracha to make it look like spaghetti sauce, to compare, this is twice as spicy! Don't buy this if you can't handle extreme spice..you'll just torture yourself. Aside from the YouTube videos of people exaggerating for views , this ramen made my eyes water, runny nose, but it was so delicious and addicting. You can't stop eating. The sauce is sweet, spicy and not too salty. Top ramen is all salt, this is different, much better. The Nori you add on top adds good flavor. I'd like more but I can't stop telling people how amazing this is. But again, I compare this to the Buffalo Wild wings challenge, except the ramen is 2x worse. I'm glad I got 5 of them . Can't drink milk so I'm at a disadvantage , ate a banana and started cooling down.Tip: this ramen is thicker than "ramen noodles" like top ramen, takes more time to cook, and worth it to have thick chewy noodles. Will be buying more.

Diabetes flavored ramen noodles now with more Mace ® added
I'll start with I'm a fan of instant noodles. When you must crush the hunger for noodles and don't have immediate access (or sometimes don't want the hassle of going out) to eat handmade ramen, the next best option is instant noodles. I've eaten just about all the flavor options available from all makers at all of the Asian stores near and around my home. From the Fung-Fu brand to Mama to Paldo to etc brand, I've tried almost all of them. With that said I've never have tried Samyang Ramen: Spicy Chicken Flavor noodles. I purchased these as a gift (in a 5-pack) for the person that first told me about them and how people were posting videos on YouTube of others eating them as a "challenge".It must be observed that flavor/taste palettes differ from one individual to another as taste is subjective. Knowing that everyone I know loves these noodles, I must say that I do NOT like them. After having tried them for myself, I say that I appreciate the thicker noodles which lend to boosting the noodles chew factor. The sauce has a pleasing red color that is dark & rich and has a thick consistency that coats the whole noodle. And that's where my positive remarks end. Last but certainly not the least factor is taste. So how did it taste? It was very sweet and hot... and I don't mean a hint of sweet or like there was a dash of pepper added. No! Imagine if you could, eating a candy bar in the Amazonian jungle kind of sweet and then someone sprayed Mace ® (pepper spray) in your mouth whilst eating said candy bar. That's the only way I could describe it. I prefer my noodles to be salty & savory not sweet & spicy. For that, I gave this product 3 stars. If it were salty & spicy I would have given it 5 stars. In summary = If you are a fan of sweet and/or enjoy feasting on hot magma then this is right up your alley. But if you've been diagnosed with Diabetes or enjoy not having to poop fire then avoid this product at all costs.

Loved them
I had to rinse my mouth with milk for 5 minutes and my lips/mouth was on fire for a while after. Would I eat it again? YES! Because they were so delicious that despite the burning I had to finish the bowl

THIS IS The SCAM!!!!
THIS IS The SCAM!!!! The product title says 6 pieces, but I only received 1. This is a very bad way to lure consumers using the title. And it's very hard to get a refund. I hope there are no more victims like me.

Ridiculously hot 🔥
I love spicy ramen noodles but these blew my granny pants off! Too hot for me but a nice taste, I may get them again but just use half the sauce.
