Product Description Protecting you all round The Nextbase Rear Window Camera offers all-round protection to guard against everything from tailgaters and rear end impacts, to knocks and bumps in a car park. It uses a 140° ultra-wide viewing angle to capture the whole road behind, including the pavements on both sides. The Rear Window Camera can easily be fitted to your front facing Nextbase Dash Cam via the supplied 6m long cable, which can easily be hidden under the roof lining out of view. It uses a fully adjustable magnetic mount to give you total flexibility. Using Neodymium magnets, the table tennis ball size camera is discreet and can be used at any angle. Protecting your whole car Focusing on the road behind you the Nextbase Rear Window Camera will guard from tailgaters and rear impacts. 140 Viewing Angle Resolution When you are using a rear-view camera module the resolution of your front camera will automatically adjust to manage the two high resolution video files. The options for these settings are 422/522GW Front 1080p Rear 1080p OR Front 1440p Rear 720p. 322GW Front 1080p Rear 720p. 622GW Front 4K Rear 1080p Compatible with Nextbase 322GW , 422GW , 522GW and 622GW models.

Review: Better than I expected. - The final part for my Nextbase GW322 dashcam fit. Had the front already, and decided that for the odd idiotic driver on the road, it would be prudent to fit the rear screen camera. I was a bit daunted by the fitting of it, but when I started it was quite enjoyable. Having to fit to my Juke, I managed quite easily to route the cable through the rubber transfer tubing between the hatch and the car body. After that it was as easy as pie. With a simple push connection to the dashcam, it was done. It automatically records the video, and can be viewed easily by using your phone app. Takes a while to load, but after about 5 minutes, the front and back footage is easily located. Go to dashcam on your phone app; click the 3 dots and select, front, back or all. Done and dusted. Only one point to mention; when fitted, If the rear camera cable is twisted or in any kind of tension, it can swivel slightly on the magnetic mount. To avoid this, I attached a couple of self adhesive hooks, and then wound the cable around one, then the other. I was very happy with the fitting and the rear camera. I am a little bit more reassured that if the worst happens, I've got it covered.
Review: Nice And Easy to install to an existing cam - I Had a Nextbase 522GW Front View Dashcam & Hardware Fitted by Halfords just before Xmas 2020. A 25 to 45 min job turned into a two hour installation... I have a 2014 Ford Focus (Hatchback) the installer could not get it to power up when the ignition were turned on... Even used a second Installer to double check all were fitted all ok. Both Said i would need to take it into ford to install correctly.. I knew what the issue were all the way along.. i simply played along with it as long as i possibly could.. Most of the electrics does not work correctly when either the Drivers or Passenger door is left open. As it were geting close two two hours and not happy with the advice given, i said i will try it with the engine running.. Bingo The 522W Powered up... So i complained about my time being wasted... I got Refunded the £35 Fitting Fee + a £15 Gift Voucher... The Money were spent on the Rear Camera and i am so pleased by the quality of the recordings... This were Fitted By myself in around ten - fifteen minutes max.. Bare in mind that i am one who do not like cables showing at all but the best i could do is in the pic as it needs a little amount to cover the the Hatchback Space required for the opening... I have been using this rear cam for two days now and is working as it should... Just have to watch the cable if i need to fill the boot, And to keep an eye on the front cam every so often to see it keeps a very good line up of the road behind me.

**Q: If the rear window camera is fitted to a hatchback style rear door, how is the cable routed? should i put a loop into it at the crossing point?**
A: I fitted mine to a hatchback-type rear, but I cheated and had a pro hardwire it in, along with the front-facing dashcam (Nextbase 422). The only lesson I can give is, beware if you have a DAB radio. The rear camera interfered with my DAB signal, to the extent that I had no DAB signal. I took it back to the auto-electician, who explained that the DAB aerial is built into the rear window, similar to the rear-window heating elements. The rear dashcam was obviously affecting the DAB aerial. He fitted some kind of suppressor (no charge) on the dashcam cable and that sorted it.

**Q: does this come as standard with cigarette lighter to power it? Also, does the main hardwire kit from nextbase work with this camera?**
A: It's powered from the main/front Nextbase camera, just plugs in with a USB connector so doesn't need any extra wiring to power it.

A: Only problem is loosing the whole 6.5m length of cable in the roof lining as it's really long even in my 3 month old Seat Leon FR, I managed to loose mine at the front around the drivers sun visor area.

An addition to my 522W dash am. Took me 10 minutes to wire in on a Skoda Superb estate and it is a simple plug and play unit.
