Up/Down Tilt Adjustment - An Abject Failure
As noted by too many others, the poor adjustment hold even with maximum torque on the setting screws is the issue with this monitor stand.I read the reports of tilt issues before I bought it, but kidded myself that those that experienced them either had peculiar monitors or failed to tighten the adjustment properly, based on years of satisfaction with Monoprice products.I was wrong, this mount is junk.It would not hold the up/down tilt at all with an older monitor near the maximum supported weight. I bought a newer one that weighs not much more than half the rated 30 lbs for this mount. It failed to hold just as quickly.I bought external 'star' washers to try to help it grip. Even with these, it barely holds the half-weight monitor. In contrast, with other, working mounts that I have, this one has only smooth surfaces in the tilt mechanism so whatever you do, it will not hold.Designed to fail.

Great product...Exactly what I needed....
I have two 40" 4K Samsung TV's that I am using as monitors that I had sitting on my desk with their original stands...the stands took up a lot of desk space. I purchased two of these stands and they hold up the monitors very well. The screw for the screen tilt had to be tightened down alot for these bigger monitors but for my situation, I have some small speakers the monitors are resting on so that helps (it also covers the base/clamp which is nice). Very happy with them. I did have to work around some bars under the glass desktop that obstructed the clamp so I cut a 6" block of 2 x 4 to put between the clamp and the glass desktop and the stand is still very stable. Overall, just having so much desk space back is so nice.

Great, but with a few issues
- The TV will tilt from side/side with no way to adjust (the up/down and tilt forward/back are locked)- The directions are terrible, small, and leave a lot to be desired- The nuts that mount the larger (200x200) plate were just too tight. I bought some #10-32 ones at the hardware store, and these worked fineI normally love Monoprice stuff, but this is a dud. It'll do the job, and I feel comfortable moving it when I move into a new office.

Tilting mechanism is an issue for me
Construction is strong, but with one exception. The mount allows the TV/Monitor to rotate Clockwise or AntiClockwise. The clamping mechanism for the tilting function could not be tightened, and since one side of my TV was heavier than the other side, it wants tilt clockwise. I have to place something, specifically an empty pill bottle under the right side to keep the TV horizontal. I suppose you could use books or magazines too! Roger Louie 11-23-2019 12:15 am

Excellet product!
Easy install, just remember when mounting smaller plate to the larger plate for VESA 200MM mount, the tiny nuts are self locking type, at first I was frustrated when I tried to do a initial tightening with fingers, the nut would not go on more than 2 turns...instead you need a plier to grip the nut so it doesn't move, then use Philip head screw driver torque the screw in...it will go in and lock in, make it tight.

Easy to assemble but no way to adjust "rotation" friction
This is a strong monitor stand and was easy to install. My only complaint is that it is WAY too easy to make the monitor rotate clockwise (or counter-clockwise) and there doesn't seem to be a way to make that less "rotational." I tried to find a way to tighten it and couldn't and I tried shims but no luck. I could, I suppose, do a couple of spot welds but that seems like too much to ask of a customer and the metal construction is far too smooth to expect a liquid epoxy or similar to hold. Anyway, so long as I don't knock my desk in such a way that it makes my monitor rotate, it's fine.

Pieces missing and internal packaging damaged
I'm usually quite happy with anything I order from Monoprice over the years. However, this time was different. When I opened the box, the boxes inside were clearly damaged as was the styrofoam packaging. There were also two empty plastic bags. I later discovered what was likely missing. The screws that would fit the back of my monitor. I had some extras fortunately but that would have been very frustrating if I didn't. Also, I had to take apart the edge clamp in order to use the main screw in the hole clamp setup in order to mount it on my desk. The other Monoprice desk mount that I had purchased previously did not have any of these issues and was easy to install.

Hard to assemble.
I bought this product used and it came with so many screws and there were missing peices. I wish I had pictures but I sent it back. If you buy this product, please buy it new. I think it would have been better if it was new

Solid as a rock, and supports large format TV
I added an extra 14" to this pole (Using a chain link fence post cut down). Supports a 43" TV well off the desk allowing me to run multiple large format monitors, while still having room underneath for storage, tablets, and laptops.Great value for money. Just make sure your desk edge can support the weight. Boost the strength of the desk with a length of 4"x1" lumber and use the screw through mounting option rather than the edge clamp.

Great stand if you’re mounting a TV
Was able to mount a 43” Samsung OLED tv onto a sit/stand Ikea desk with this.Great that it’s mounts go to 400/400 and it’s sturdy enough that I haven’t been worried at all about the oversized TV on it.

Does not support up to 30lbs
My monitor is 28lbs. After about 3 weeks, it started sagging. The hardware does NOT support the advertised 30lbs. I have tried tightening it and no go. I do not recommend this stand if your monitor is >26lbs.

Works well with my 35" ultra widescreen monitor
Installation is very easy and it has added a lot of space to my desk. The only issue I had was having to tighten the mount heavily for the up/down tilt. Even though this mount claims to be for 42" TVs I would be surprised if it could manage to hold it up well.
