No its a toy. It has sound and the silencer changes the sound. It's an electronic toy.

When you shoot it, is it loud?

It clicks like the old fashioned toy guns, so no, it's not loud at all. Frankly, it's not kid sized at all and, despite the colors is a little too realistic. I bought it for a costume prop and was surprised the kit was advertised for kids. It's an adult-sized realistic gun.
