Unique and eye-catching design - has a quality look & feel - but let down by the construction...
The design is unique and eye-catching. However, at the end of the day the construction is just leather stretched and glued over cardboard with the rubber phone holder glued onto the leather. I purchased two variants - one for the Huawei P9 and another for the Huawei Mate10. It seems that only the rubber phone holder (and cut-outs) differs and the leather bound covers are common. The P9 version has the cut-outs in exactly the correct place – whereas, the Mate10 version the cut-outs don’t exactly match. The P9 version has enough slack in the cover & spine to accept 2 cards and still easily close - whereas, the Mate10 version with the bigger phone holder doesn't. The P9 version - the magnets are quite strong and hold the case closed - whereas, the Mate10 version the magnets are poor and with the tension created by the lack of slack in the spine - the cover doesn't always stay closed (I’m thinking of getting stronger magnets). The P9 version - when the cover was glued to the rubber phone holder - wasn't glued completely - so after a fortnight of use - the rear now has creases where the cover has been caught and the cover bent (I will need to reglue the rubber phone holder onto the cover to make it more sturdy). This doesn't seem to be a problem with the Mate10 version. Overall – I like the design – I like the quality look & feel – but the construction and materials selection lets these cases down. They could have been so much better.
