I bought these to replace the dc sockets on some USA made effects pedals I bought as the contact was poor with the Gigrig modular power supply dc connector cables I use.These are excellent and are a nice tight fit.Also they are insulated from the pedal case which is a requirement for centre negative powered pedals.They have 3 pin connectors for soldering but you only need to use 2 outer connectors, the 3rd is if for if the pedal has a battery option.

I think these are fine; I got one installed in a new guitar pedal and it behaves as normal, with a battery cutoff when inserting external power supply. No problems.
