Good quality
The first one I received was obviously previously used. Returned and received a replacement quickly. Works great. Sliced potatoes and onions easily thus far I did keep the box and after use store it in it to prevent accidents as it is very sharp .

Great slicer
This is a GREAT slicer. I love it. I have been disappointed by other slicers. The blade on this one is sharp and I seems it could be easily sharpened or replaced when it inevitably dulls. Thickness is completely adjustable. I like this. Very thin slices can be easily made on onions, peppers, leeks and even mushrooms. I even sliced ginger root and garlic but be very careful with small items not to get your finger tips in the mix. I cut mine and started using anti cut gloves. They .mworked great and seem to slide up and over the blade while allowing the last few cuts on thin small items I DO NOT like the pusher. The sides are sloped so you can't push with it and the prongs are too long leaving much un sliceable waste. I purchased the widest size. It is wider than I expected and should have gotten one size down. Its not the easiest to operate but worked really well when placed on top of a large bowl. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Maybe the best mandoline you can buy
I have a $200 French Bron Mandoline but this Jumbo Benriner slices much thinner. I shave onions for smashburgers and it is the best thing on the market. The blade is sturdy and sharp and can easily be sharpened by you or a pro.

Piece of Junk
Piece of Garbage Extra blades were not in box impossible to set slice depth. Total junk do not buy. zero stars not an option unfortunately

does cut time but does waste some food
used to use cuisinart blades by hand because the food processor's motor died and finally purchased a mandoline. I picked this one because it had a wider blade and was slip resistant. the finger protector is good, however takes a little getting used to using. you do waste some food because you can't cut the whole food item end to end because of the prongs that hold the food on the finger protector doesn't allow it. when you open the blade to do thicker cuts you can not lie the mandoline flat on the counter because the dial that controls the thickness hits the table giving you an unstable mandoline (design a little wonky). it is all one piece and cleans easlily as well as being compact and stores easily.

Great sized slices
Bought this for my dad as he owns a fast food business, he says the slices are perfect and it's extremely easy to use and very durable. He loves it so far

Best mandolin on the market. Jumbo size is perfect for large onions.
Best mandolin on the market. Made in Japan. I use this and other versions all the time. I like this Jumbo size because onions are usually this size and I can slice up a whole onion in one go on this size mandolin. I am cooking with fresh onions all the time and find it super easy to get consistent slice slices every time with this gizmo. Easy to clean and put away. If I had to slice up onions using my food processor, the actual slicing would take seconds, but the prep and clean-up would be much more work. The knife would be fastest and easiest, but I would be a crying mess in the end and have wonkey slices because I couldn't see my work through my tears.

Watch your fingers, kids. :)
I would have gladly paid more for cross-cut in this size, but I have a smaller Benriner that does that pretty well. Check carefully the first time you use it.. the teeth of the safety guide on mine were slightly too long, and I had to pick a few plastic bits outta my potatoes. All better now. :) Calibration is not too loose. Blade is what you might expect; smooth action.
