Good Grips Stainless Steel Fish Turner

This is our second of this exact type of OXO “fish flipper” spatula. We still have the prior one, but the handle material has degraded over time after frequent runs through the dishwasher. We sometimes use a high-heat “sanitary mode,” so perhaps others have not had this issue, but the handle on ours has become “tacky” over time — a sign the plastic is degrading. But it’s become such an indispensable tool in our kitchen that we had to get another one, which will be hand-washed going forward. These aren’t just for fish, although I used it on the sockeye salmon last night and it was of course perfect. But this kind of thin, flexible spatula works well with anything you’re cooking in a pan that needs flipping, turning, or manipulating, whether you’re browning ground beef for chili or turning steaks. I don’t really see the point of the short, fat style for most of what we cook — this fish flipper style slides under food easily and is wide enough and “springy” enough to lift a T-bone or an omelet. For fish but I really wanted for eggs!!! My friend has same one and eggs never bust when being turned. ❤️ I'm a happy egg flipper lol works great on my Halibut too! Handle is great. Not sharp edges are flat and thin makes easy flipping. Dishwasher safe.

I purchased this turner for our Coleman travel grill. Nice size and will work well for a hot grill! I wasn’t disappointed

I have been using this many, many months. I love it so much I encourage my brother to get one. I ended up giving him one alongside a gift card for Christmas. My mom said when he opened his gift he freaked because he finally got the fish spatula. Guess, you definitely know you’re old when you get all excited about a kitchen utensil. But this is truly one to get excited about. It has a great grip like all of OXO products. It’s steel so no worries about rusting. The scoop is long to gather more food up with. I use this for multiple things. It’s great for scooping up fries, tator tots, cookies off of a baking sheet. I use it to scoop up any meat I cook to plate it. I have even used it to help drain off veggies from a pot. This is a tool I use daily. Always finding new ways to use it. Soooo, worth the price.

CHECK THE SIZE SPECS BEFORE PURCHASING. The “Little Fish Turner” is a standard size fish spatula and great for many use cases beyond fish. The “Fish Turner” will work for large pieces of fish and grilling, but is too large for many of the use cases that make the “Little” such a perfect versatile workhorse, and it’s a bit less flexible. The “Little” is a great fish spatula; I’ve used it nearly daily for years. It broke after many years of service, so I reordered the “Fish Tuner” without checking that there were multiple size options. I’ve had to reorder to get the right size.

Nice; thin sharp edge slips underneath fish fillets cleanly when pan cooking, the key to not tearing them apart is following instructions for browning to create a crust and therefor not being stuck to pan. Baking using a silicone mat or parchment paper ensures that. The spatula lifts the fish w/o tearing it away from the skin (salmon) or the cooked crust bottom. Spatula is also good for lifting other delicate foods from pan. OXO products usually work and hold up well. I've only used this for a month but I love it and expect it to hold up well-with common sense care.

I use this every week when I bake my filets. Nice and long to get the whole filet to the plate. Goes in dishwasher top rack. Washes well.
