When I first received this unit, I was unable to find any channels after completing a channel scan. After returning the first one and getting a replacement unit, I was again unable to find any channels after completing a channel scan. It turns out that the software on the box had the signal type set to "Cable" by default.If you are having problems scanning for channels do the following:• On the initial screen, press the Menu button.• Use the right arrow to change to the Channel Search tab.• Change the Single Type from "Cable" to "Air" and then select Auto Search.Once I was able to get it to find channels, it works pretty well. The video is a bit jerky when initially turning to a new channel, but other than that it is a solid DTV receiver.

Straight forward on programming. Channel readout is good. Only issue is there seems to be a lot of heat generated from the box. Could be a problem if placed on sensitive furniture.Edit: It hasn't been a year yet and the unit is dead. May have been the heat issue. Don't really know. No fuses to replace that I can see. Not a bad unit while it worked. I guess you do get what you pay for. I think at this point my rating should be three stars (generous) and that would be the price point.

I got this unit a month ago as a replacement to a 3 year old unit made by TERK. Installed in less than 5 minutes. Everything worked perfectly in less than 10 minutes of scanning channels and try recording. I love this remote. It was easily learned the TV functions and I'm now in heaven with excitement since I used to use two remotes one for TV just for on/off and another for the box. But now it is GREAT.

I’ve been using this unit for several months now, and so far, so good. Pros: Inexpensive, small size, acceptable sensitivity, DVR function good. Cons: Difficult to set up (couldn’t ‘find’ any channels at first, default setting was ‘cable’ not ‘air’), gets very hot during use, near-useless & misleading ‘manual’. In general, OK for the money.

It will not power on. I used it less than 10 times in 5 months. I cannot believe the poor quality of this product.

The price is good although it didn’t work out of the box. I took it apart made a minor adjustment to a loose wire. Then it worked fine.

Same day i receive the box I go to read the instructions to set it up and first go to use the remote and set it up to my tv and nope doesn’t connect, ok fine no big deal then proceed to have the box search for channels and it doesn’t even complete a channel search without it cutting off and restarting. Been through the process about 5 times already and I think I just have to call it what it is at this point (JUNK!!!) and definitely don’t plan on keeping this and giving it more of my time. I’ll probably could go to a Best Buy down the road for the same price and pick up something far better in effectiveness and quality.

I have gone thru 3 vmade Digital Converter Boxes and all three overheated and burned out.
