WOW. JUST WOW. 4.5 out of 5; minus a little for no color/shade samples
I'm almost 60/F, some wrinkles and a fair amount of discoloration, red spots, and sun damage, esp. on cheeks. This foundation (baked balance and brighten, color FAIR) is really easy to use. Feels like nothing, even when building. I used only basic, soft, fluffy brushes I had on hand; they worked well for light coverage, but I do think a denser brush option - like a retracting kabuki, as recommended - might work better for building. Very good coverage on bare skin (moisturizar only), pracrically perfect over an inexpensive primer. Almost all my flaws disappeared, even without concealer. Did not settle in wrinkles, either. I FEEL PRET-TY, OH-SO PRET-TY!...or, at least, "not bad for an old broad, not at all!". I do find that using primer is better over large pores and significant discoloration, such as have I. I used a budget brand with spf 30 and the foundation went on perfectly. It's FAST, too. The longest part if the process is waiting for the primer to dry, maybe 1-3 minutes. Found it difficult to shade match - but to be fair: When is it *not* difficult? Would be a very nice thing if Laura Geller Beauty offered an inexpensive "sampler" (say, $5.00 for just enough product for 1/2 face in two adjacent shades) to help in this process. I tried "PORCELAIN" first, but it was just a tad too light. The model wearing "FAIR" looks like an olive tone to me, whereas (I think?) I'm more peachy, like the "LIGHT" model - but I'm super pale...but ... but.. hem ..haw.. Seems really wasteful to open, use once and return a full product to try a color that isn't quite right, as I have. "Samplers" would really help reduce the volume of product returns, not to mention reduce waste and carbon footprints - just sayin'. Step up,๐Laura Geller. Make the planet as beautiful as you have me!

Just buy it!
Iโve been really impressed with this ! It goes on smoothly, feels lightweight, and gives my skin a natural, even finish without looking cakey. Itโs quick to apply, lasts well throughout the day, and is perfect for anyone looking for buildable coverage with a soft, healthy-looking glow. Definitely a staple in my makeup routine!

Powder on mature skin
**(Updated review at the end)** Have only used it once but as a 52 yr old with dry skin, Iโm pleasantly surprised that this powder didnโt look dry on me, dry out my skin or settle into lines and creases. Iโve only worn it once though because I chose the wrong color for my skin tone. A couple reviewers wrote that you could get away with wearing a few of the shades, so I chose based on that but it doesnโt work for me. I chose โFairโ because for some reason, it was significantly cheaper than the other tones. And at these price points, I didnโt want to try a new foundation and dislike it. So, I thought with โFairโ, โPorcelainโ and โLightโ all having a similar color value (lightness), Iโd be good. You can see in the pix that โFairโ is warmer (more orange) than โporcelainโ and โlightโ but commenters have said it doesnโt matter. It does. I have cool undertones and โfairโ made me very orange. And I only used the lightest touch and one layer- I didnโt build it up. โPorcelainโ looks to be the same value but cooler-toned . I wanted to order โlightโ, which is between โfairโ and โporcelainโ in terms of warmth and coolness - itโs the most neutral. But โlightโ costs $8 more and โporcelainโ costs $4 more than โfairโ and like said, I didnโt want to pay $30-$34 for a product I was worried would be dry plus commenters said you could wear other tones and it would work with your coloring, so I trusted that. So now Iโm stuck with this $26 product I canโt use. But Iโm giving it 4 stars based on the wearability from the one time I wore it. Lovely coverage and it didnโt sink into my fine lines. Just know that it DOES matter what color you choose. And why is there such a vast difference in price between shades?? **Update: I have not changed the star rating. I purchased my correct shade, porcelain. Iโve never bought porcelain in other foundations. I am typically darker than that but I am definitely porcelain with this foundation. You need to apply this immediately after moisturizer if you want it to stick like a foundation. Or primer is also good underneath. This foundation is very smooth and illuminating. Not glittery, but all of your highlighted areas of your face are illuminated, which is nice. The first time I wore it in public, I got a compliment on my skin, which was definitely due to this foundation because my bare skin is very uneven, and I have rosacea. I barely touch around my eyes though with us. I feel like it highlights my crows feet and lines too much. But I love it everywhere else on my face. What I think I love most is the non-make up feel. It feels like you have nothing on your face.

Age defining fountain of youth!
All women at least over 50 should try this amazing powder. We already have a beautiful face & this powder enhances our natural beauty. I do not use any other powder now that I tried this. I am 60 & I am told that I look like I am in my late 40s. The product goes on nicely with the brush & it does feel nor appear that I have to much makeup, you look bright and you have a nice finished look. It stays fresh all day long, as well as adventurous times at night. It does not come off on pillows during hose times when you cannot remove before bed. You still look fresh! No skin irritation, texture great & it does not look too thick on your face, it blends in with all of your earned wrinkles & facial scars, the product does not highlight those features you might want to hide. I love the product, I wish I had used it years before.

Award-winning genius - color corrects and brightens flawlessly!
LAURA GELLER Balance-n-Brighten powder is absolutely phenomenal and has revolutionized my makeup routine! This award-winning color correcting powder is genius in its simplicity - the baked formula with swirled colors works together to create a perfectly balanced, natural-looking complexion. The powder feels incredibly silky and lightweight on the skin, never cakey or heavy. I love how it color corrects, brightens, and provides buildable coverage all in one product. The baked formula gives a beautiful luminous finish that looks like naturally healthy skin rather than obviously made-up. The color-correcting swirls neutralize redness, sallowness, and uneven skin tone seamlessly. Application is foolproof - just swirl your brush through all the colors and apply. The powder blends effortlessly and works beautifully over bare skin or foundation. The staying power is impressive, lasting all day without fading or requiring touch-ups. I appreciate that it doesn't settle into fine lines or pores. The compact is sturdy with a good mirror, perfect for on-the-go touch-ups. The powder works for multiple skin tones which is remarkable. It gives a subtle glow without shimmer or glitter. Perfect for mature skin as it's not drying. The quality justifies the investment - a little goes a long way so the compact lasts months. This has simplified my routine while improving results. Award-winning for good reason. Essential for anyone wanting effortless, natural-looking coverage. Professional quality at home!

Porcelain is too light, Fair is too dark
I really wanted to like this powder-- If there was a color that worked for my skin tone, I would! I'm fair but not like, alabaster, with cool undertones. I can usually find my right shade one step from the lightest (depending on how many shades in the product line). I saw a couple other reviews that said the Fair was too dark, and I should have believed them! With warm undertones it might be worth a shot, but if your ancestors came from chilly, overcast countries like mine you should believe it too: the Fair is Too. Dark. It turned surprisingly orangey on me as well, so the color-correcting is... not correcting? Or can only do so much. So, though typically anything called 'porcelain' is too light for me, I went ahead and ordered that shade, fingers crossed. And though it's closer than I would have thought, it's just too pale. AND it's quite pink! Too pink. Weird pink. I'm not someone who has the time/energy to blend the two, even if I thought the orange and pink could make peace with one another (I don't). So I'm disappointed that neither works on its own, because I liked the formula otherwise. Goes on very smooth and feels light, has respectable staying power. I have textured/lightly discolored acne scars on my cheeks, and this provides good medium coverage over those areas and really does seem to blur the fine lines. I am just gobsmacked, though, that Laura Geller doesn't offer a color in between these two, as I would never in a million years call them neighboring shades.

Like this for the more natural look.
I appreciate being able to use this stuff. I'm goes on light enough but still helps even the skin tone enough for me that I feel like I still look like me with a more natural look. So far I haven't had any issues with skin irritation or breakouts while using it. Lasts quite a while. Goes on fairly smooth. Is a powder foundation that isn't call cakey and noticeable.

Amazing, with caution
This is my second purchase of this compact foundation. I am a natural very light blonde & look best with yellow undertone shades of foundation. I had ordered the color 'fair' directly from the manufacturer along with coordinating products, such as their highlighting powder, primer, brushes & blush (I don't use the blush). The color fair was perfect for me & I was amazed at how fast the makeup went on & the finished effect. I could brush it on quickly, apply a quick flick of the brightener (which I found to be a lovely compliment), completing the whole process in less than a minute. This immediately became my favorite go-to. It goes on so FAST & so SMOOTH which I found astounding considering my past experience with powder type foundations. When I saw this on Amazon, I promptly ordered another, choosing the exact same description (be sure to read the back label) & color. However, this next compact I received did not have as much of the central brighten(er) marble streak that the first compact had, which essentially changed the color a lot for me. So. I would caution that if you are as particular of your shade of foundation as I am (& after all, isn't that one of the major reasons we wear face makeup to begin with?) you may not receive exactly the same shade each time, changing your finished effect - even though you order the same product. I went ahead & ordered the porcelain highlighter compact hoping to use it overtop of the 'fair' shade to lighten the color. The brightener's recommended use is to enhance the cheekbones, nose & chin areas after applying the initial foundation. But because I'm using it to lighten the shade-too-dark foundation, it becomes a different function & adds more layers as well as time to the routine.. Which kind of vetoed what I had found to be the best qualities of the makeup to begin with. And needing to buy the extra brightener compact was an added expense I didn't expect. So once these have been used up, I'm not sure I'll purchase it again since my former cream foundation is a perfect shade for me. Being a light skinned blonde I look for a shade that is closest to my natural color which is not an easy task. Just a tad darker & I tend to look very 'made up'. So, if you prefer more color to your face, you may want to try this. I've never had a product go on more quickly & evenly with so little effort. No lines or streaks. For that feat alone, I will say that this foundation is amazing.

Very impressed with this product. Went on light, builds coverage easily. My skin looked flawless, no creasing anywhere , even near corners of eyes or under. My skin looked very natural and even toned, not powdery or caked on. Love it. Would buy again. 48 years older skin with redness

Healthy, natural colour and glow which is one can build to your own perfect depth of colour!
This product is PERFECT for more mature skin, and for those who want a natural, glow to the skin that adds subtle colour (which can be built up depending on what depth of colour you wish to create) and a healthy natural glow. It works by "blending" the many small imperfections that mature skin tends to accumulate as we age. Sun spots, freckles and small scars from previous blemishes, tend to darken over time. What LG's Balance N Brighten does is it evens out these small imperfections over the whole face and that gives an instant impression that they are no longer noticeable. This powder is NOT a foundation or concealer, it is a balancing powder that is so fine, that there is no loose powder as I apply it and I can build each layer so that I can get the EXACT colour and glow that I want. I have never worn foundation my whole life, but due to having good skin. (I only ever had to wear concealer which was LG also exquisite quality and coverage, plus a little went a long way and I had mine for about 10 years of use before it ran out) The final result, is I have a wonderful healthy glow that is natural and perfect for when one is in natural light which reveals a lot! I don't like skin that is too sparkly or caked or too obvious...so this ticked ALL my boxes. It is no wonder she has won awards for this...it is really really worth a try as you WILL look healthy and glowing when. you wear it!
