Worked exactly how I needed it to...
I needed to stream an event for two days by taking a feed from a single HDV camera with audio and send it to my laptop, each day was going to be an 8-hour straight stream. The camera came with it's own firewire cable but it was only a foot long and I needed the 6 ft. cable for maneuverability. I had never streamed an event before so I admit I was nervous and concerned that I had no idea what I was doing but everything went well and the cable held up great and gave me the cable length I was needing for panning 180 degrees. Great price and great results.

It works
I picked this up to go from my Canopus ADVC 110 video capture device to my new 2011 MacBook Pro. The build quality is pretty good and it works fine.I have no complaints other that the price was a little high and the firewire symbol is on the bottom side rather than the top when connecting to the MacBook Pro, so I have to remember that when connecting...but that may be more of an Apple issue.

The one and only solution to 800/400 Firewire dilemma
I bought a new external drive that was Firewire 800 and obviously could not connect it to my Firewire 400 enabled MacBook. After trying a couple of solutions from Amazon (that I was fortunately able to return) that did not work - either because they failed to give a tight fit and thus compromised the data flow and hung up my computer or were not as described, I did a work around using a 400/USB cable. Since my wife got a new iMac, I had to go to the Apple store to get a 800/400 cable to set up the new computer. It cost 29.99 plus tax and was the ONLY one Apple carried. It worked perfectly as does the second almost half price one from Amazon. Forget the cheapy colored ones - get the Belkin - it works and is much faster than the 400/USB cable

Sent the wrong cable
The cable is solid. Only problem is, it's the wrong one. I received a 4 feet, 800/400, not the 6 feet. I'm keeping it because I can still use it under certain circumstances, and it's still a good bargain. Didn't want to deal with the hassle of return, so I bought a 6 ft cable from local store for more $

Ideal, stable connections
I needed this to connect my Macbook Pro Unibody to a recording mixer. The Macbook has 9-pin Firewire jack while the mixer has a 6-pin jack. This does the job perfectly. The connections are stable/firm on both sides. I read several disappointing reviews of people who purchased adapters to do this instead of a cable with dedicated ends of both 6-pins and 9-pins. Most complained that the ends were very loose and wiggly. I can't speak from experience regarding that, but if you're at all concerned that that may be an issue, I would encourage you to get this. Definitely NO wiggling here. The price is VERY reasonable and six feet is a good length to work with.In short, it does exactly what it's supposed to do and does a great job of doing so.

Works well
This Belkin FireWire cord works very well for me. The connection is not quite as tight as I'd like, but my equipment isn't getting any movement when it's in use so that's not a problem for me. I like the 6 foot length, it's just right for my purpose. The FireWire has worked well for me without any issues or errors. There isn't a lot to say about FireWire, but I'm happy with the purchase and the price. I've had good luck with Belkin products and this one has lived up to my expectations.

Fire Wire Cable
The product was new and sealed in box but the firewire cable did not work. Took it too an Apple dealer and they tested it as dead too. So the product came fast and new but is useless because it doesn't work.

Just what I needed!
Got this for the Seagate FreeAgent Desktop Firewire 800 adapter to connect to my computer's Firewire 400 ports.Works as expected without any of the other bulky adapter solutions of other manufacturer's cables. Is packaged within Apple/Mac packaging, but works just fine in GNU/Linux!FYI: Contains a warning on the packaging, "WARNING This product contains chemicals, including lead, known to the State of California to cause birth defects or other reproductive harm." I speculate this is because some rubber/metal molding equipment might use lead molding during manufacturing?)
