My Favorite Hand Held Shears!
Gardening and Cooking are two passions of mine. This Spring it was time for me to clean up last year's dried up and dead growth plus trim the 'suckers' on the small Crepe Myrtles we have. I already had some of my favorite smaller shears, but they were too small to do the job and I ordered these. For starters, they were at my house in no time flat. (I do have Prime) I couldn't have gotten to the store and picked up a pair as fast as these came. I started using them the first day they were delivered and here's my opinion on them. They are heavy duty with thick sharp stainless steel blades and did a fabulous job trimming last year's old stalks on my Peony's, Daylilies, small twigs/branches on my Camellias, and even the new 'suckers' coming up on my Crepe Myrtles. No problems at all. These will be perfect for dead heading blooms throughout the summer. As for the size and shape of the handles, they're perfect for my hands. I wear a Small-Medium size ladies gloves. They have a rubbery grip and will not slip out of my hands and the springs are the right resistance to not make my hands tired from snipping plants. The locking mechanism is easy to use with the same hand that you're holding the shears, by just using the thumb to lock and unlock it. The only concern I have about the locking mechanism is that it's made of plastic. Even thought it is heavy duty and appears to be well made with ridges to make it easier to slide with your thumb or finger, I hope it won't crack or break after constant use.One caution... the tips of the blades are a bit sharp, so just be careful to not scratch yourself with them. Since they come with a 100% customer satisfaction guarantee, it's definitely worth ordering without seeing or handling them first. So far, these are my favorite hand held pruning shears and I won't be sending them back.

Gardener's Best Friend
Love the weight, not too heavy but has a substantial feel. Good size for my hands and I have average to slightly above average hands. Wife also likes them and her hands are small so I'd say its a good universal size/weight. They're stainless steel, not just the blades but all parts appear to be as well. I have left them out in the rain a few times now and no signs of rust to speak of. All my previous pairs showed signs of rust after leaving them out just once. I'm pretty notorious for leaving my pruners out (not intentionally but it happens lol). Handles are also very comfortable and are coated in a grip coating that keeps them from getting slippery when wet or moist while pruning in the morning while there is still dew on the plants. Finally, they come very sharp. Not razor sharp but sharp enough to make you not want to touch the blade and they cut through small branches with ease. Overall, I found no faults with them, they are a breeze to use, feel like a quality product and are priced very reasonably. I wouldn't hesitate to buy them again should these somehow disappear out in the garden; thankfully that's the only scenario where I see a need to replace them given that they wont be rusting on me like my previous pairs.

Well Made, SHARP, narrow, comfortable in your hand. Bonsai tool for sure!
The media could not be loaded. Heavy in the hand, soft rubber handle covers, extremely sharp! These gardenite snips are nicely made and have a lock that remains open or closed without sliding back and forth.I think the price/quality combination is pretty unbeatable. They cut flower stems very clean which is important to me as I don't want the remaining plant to be damaged more than it has to be.I highly recommend that you purchase a holster so that you can have them clipped to your pocket or belt for added convenience.Sharp, stainless steel blades are just the right combination of narrow (for getting into small twigs) and strength for cutting those thicker dead twigs without damaging the pruners. 5/15" max diameter dead twig cutting.I definitely am happy with them and give Five Stars for the quality at this price. I endorse them without reservation.

GREAT LITTLE SHEARS
I have been using this pruning shear for several weeks. It is now my favorite plant tool inside and out! It is a sturdy, well designed tool with nice features. The handle is very comfortable and is a good easy grip. The spring seems quite strong and I really like the way the clip works to close the grips. Because it really works! No springing open unexpectedly or locking itself mid project. For the size, the blades are heavier metal than any I have had before and easy to keep clean. They are small enough for little houseplant snips and study enough for most any snip, clip and prune around the garden. Small and strong, I carry them all the time I am in the yard. I love these. I say... Get these shears! You will be glad you did.

WOW
Well, first off they arrived early! Who doesn't like that?Review from a 6-hour trimming session.Down to it:The PROS: Out of the package SHARP!, they fit my hand very nicely (L size hands), easy to clean, good lock, very sturdy (time will tell), very good at removing the bulk of leaf matter off of the flower, good-sized blades, smooth cutting motion. The CONS: Blades a little too thick for detailed trimming, fatigue set in about hour 5 ( usually trim with Fiskars micro snips 7 to 9 hours straight with minor hand fatigue, probably due to the mass of the snips), the last con is kinda lame nevertheless, bo cover for the blades.I bought two pairs and I will be ordering more, a good price and if they hold up a great value.

it is well built and very handy
hello, we have purchased many pruning shears over the years. this one by equinox is one of the best. it fits easily in large or small hands. the blades are very sharp and cut through the normal branches and vegetation. the funky lock cover works well and does not crimp like the wire metal shaped hooks of the past. the grip is covered so as not to give you blisters or abrasions. daily short term use does not require gloves, but all day use probably would to prevent blisters. it is well built and very handy

Excellent for small hands and light pruning
Did not realize how small this cutter was. Good if you have small hands or athritis.I guess it is light weight and good for prunnng dead flowers but not larger thicker stems.Excellent for dead heading flowers which would have got a 5 but not for general use

precise cutters
quite happy with these, get into tight spots and allows to cut out dead leaves .Good to trim the lemmongrass and hibiscus.Neat little point makes it easy.Probably would not do too well on harder thicker wood bigger than 1/2 inch.I won't be using them for jobs that are more suited to heavy duty secatuers , so I expect them to last.I wipe them clean after every usePerfect for my needs and sharp
