I purchased this ladder to help with cutting my garden hedge which increases in height every year. It's extremely sturdy as a ladder and I like that the steps are extra wide which makes you feel safe. I am just over 6ft tall, and even standing on the top shelf, I felt safe cutting the hedge not holding on. More expensive than many other 8 step ladders on desertcart. **Q: L100 vs l80?
the l100 is almost 25% heavier than the l80. is it worth that for the extendable safety rail (the main difference between the two)?**
A: I’ve owned two Hailo ladders, a taller one for when I lived in a high ceilinged Victorian house and this one. The treads are nice and wide, but it is the extendable rail which makes all the difference in the safety of this ladder. I would not buy this ladder without the wonderful safety features built in to it. Don’t worry - they are definitely worth it. Really great ladder.

I purchased this ladder to help with cutting my garden hedge which increases in height every year. It's extremely sturdy as a ladder and I like that the steps are extra wide which makes you feel safe. I am just over 6ft tall, and even standing on the top shelf, I felt safe cutting the hedge not holding on. More expensive than many other 8 step ladders on Amazon. But I can say its worth every penny because falling off a ladder is no fun!

This is an excellent ladder. It is really well made, stable and light. We have a Victorian house with very high ceilings and this is brilliant - so tall that you can avoid having to have a scaffolding platform, without feeling you are taking your life in your hands every time you go up it. The design with the shelf at the top is also excellent for putting your paint on while you are working. Great buy.
