First, should you buy it? By all means. Fairy lights create a charming, soft atmosphere. You’ll practically see the little spirits floating in the air over your lights.My experience? I first ordered the colored string. I liked it so much, I immediately bought a second one with “warm white” tone.Tip 1: Handle your lights with care. They’ll work fine right out of the package, but if you rough them up, it’ll be “lights out” for you.Tip 2: Carefully straighten out the string end-to-end when you first open your package. Secure the leading end so your string extends its full length without recoiling.Tip 3: Avoid bending the wires. Crimping is your worst enemy. Your fairies won’t be amused.Tip 4: To open the battery compartment, you may find it a challenge to slide the cover off. It is held in place by two brittle plastic tabs with tiny hooked tips. So, gently press down on the arrows on the cover as you attempt to slide the cover off. The downward pressure depresses the lid just enough so the hooks will clear their contact points and allow you to remove the cover. If you press too hard, you’ll crack the cover and probably break the tabs.To remedy this, carefully use a sharp blade to shave off a tiny amount of the hooks once you get it open. By “tiny,” I mean less than an eyelash’s thickness. The plastic is soft and it won’t take much. Probably only one little pass with the blade is enough. This will make the battery compartment a breeze to open and still preserve enough of the tip to hold it closed.Tip 5: Your fairies love to be presented as gifts. The lights are very inexpensive but they make a wonderful impression and are very versatile for someone’s bookshelf or even strung along a countertop. Plus, they’re simple to operate. No apps. No remotes with those expensive button batteries. Just an on-off switch and they shine. (Please note, they do not twinkle, but hold a steady “on” the whole time.)My tip for gifting? Remove the lights from the original packaging and place them in something more refined. My string is a gift heading to Okayama Japan, so I selected a miniature gift bag with speckled tissue for that “poof” look. ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! I love these little lights, and so delicate and bright. You must be careful when opening the box and the wire is neatly wound in a circle. You must very delicately unwind the wire as it is so easy to tangle it. The wire is very delicate; it is best to unwind and gently stretch the lights out into a straight line; and get someone to hold the end while you put the beginning on your tree; and together put them carefully around your tree. You don't see the wire just the beautiful little lights. Just be careful and all will be perfect. I bought a set of two; but one was just fine on my little tree; I will use the other set around my Nativity. PERFECT LIGHTS AT A PERFECT PRICE THANK YOU!

I bought these lights to go on a miniature Christmas tree.Note: 3 AA batteries not included, as stated in product description.To open the battery case, look for the “Open” and arrow stamped on top of the case; see picture. There is a simple, black on/off switch.Product description states 16 feet of lights; I forgot to measure.Lights came wrapped nicely in a box that was sealed in a plastic bag. The “copper wire” looks great, is flexible, and has teeny bulbs (tasteful) integrated every 4 inches or so.The lights shine brightly, though not as warm as pictured; they’re adequately “yellow.”Be careful with unraveling the lights because the battery case tends to get in the way; would be helpful if the case was separate and could be plugged in at the end.Pleased overall with this purchase.

Pretty but so easy to tangle.

The fairy lights are easy to use, and they have pleasing illumination. I use it for Halloween Christmas and Saint Patrick’s.

The duracell batteries I use (new) did not last long. These are not on a timer so must turn on and off manually

Using in small indoor artificial tree and look very nice.

The lights are quite easy to install, quite bright, not sure about the durability though, cause it seems fragile... But my lights are still working well .. which is good ...

In reviewing this Amazon asks to give a star rating for the remote control and timer function. These have neither. You just flick a switch to turn them on or off...Lights are very bright. Take 3 AA batteries and last for a good while. We have a newborn baby and have put these above our headboard and leave them on at night. Leave a good red glow in the room which is dark enough that we can sleep but bright enough that we can see when baby wakes. Baby loves staring at them at night, she gets mesmerised and then falls asleep (advice from the baby book). They last about 5 weeks of constant use, on for a few hours each night.The copper wire seems a bit delicate, but once the lights have been carefully put up, this is a benefit as you don't have bold wires everywhere.

Very bright red lights.

These are very nice, good length. Beautiful. Not to dim or to bright

I like the length and at full brightness they are great but they don't stay at full brightness for long unfortunately. I have tried two different types of batteries and they only last at full brightness for a couple of hours. I bought them for my Christmas tree so I'm pretty disappointed. Also warm white looks more like bright white.
