Bird Nesting Globe Filled with Alpaca Fleece - All Natural, Hand Made in Montana (6")

Hello, I’ve had a single cockatiel in the past but never finches. After recently got a pair of finches, I saw they wanted to nest... So I compared some nesting material and bought this one for the good reviews. Unfortunately, it truly didn’t occur to me until I saw the little fibers wrapped around the finches feet that that could be an issue, and a stressful one at that that could ultimately cut off circulation to a small bird’s feet. So anyway, I had to catch them, stress them out, and try to take off the little fibers. Not worth it. Now I know. Just a warning for anyone considering this item for nesting.

Lots of alpaca fur was delivered, but no ball holder. Did I misunderstand the product? Why would a ball with fur be shown if no ball is included?

If you like to have birds in your yard, these add a lot of fun watching. Birds go to it and pull bits of the alpaca hair out to make their nests. Who wouldn't want an alpaca hair bed! Ordered some for my Dad as well.

This was nicer than I expected. It was a little bit of a splurge to be honest, but it is actually attractive on the feeder pole and looks more natural than the bright white cotton ball I have from last year. It withstood 4 days of rain very well--can't tell it rained. A few days after setting it out, our first goldfinches arrived for the season and found it immediately. They love this for their nest building because goldfinches line their nests with very soft substances like this.

Wife got a kick outta the Alpaca nesting ball and we have some happy bluebirds in our back yard. I think she ordered some Alpaca socks after opening the package.

This product is very nice. After moving the nesting globe a few times, I found a place where the birds would use it. Several reviews commented on birds not being interested in the nesting material. I do not think that is accurate. It may be a location issue.

Bigger than I expected, chocked full, the birds are already going after it! And best thing, it looks so much more aesthetically pleasing than a suit cage! THANK YOU!

I bought this because I have always had a nesting material for the birds. The birds have started using it to build their nests. It is adorable ( I got the smaller size because I wasn't sure that they would find it). Silly me, they found it and are pulling the nesting material out of it as I write this. They apparently love it. The little birds need all the help they can get while building a nest for their fledglings to hatch in and I'm happy that they like this.
