Full Honest Review
I bought this watch in December for a Christmas company party that I needed to dress up for. I likes the style of the watch so I bought it not expecting much. I always wore a samasung watch before hand. Now I never take this watch off, I work with the watch on (I'm blue collar and my gear always take a beating) somehow the more scratches it gets it just looks better over time. I did have to make a slight adjustment to the time tracking on it, it was running about ten seconds fast (the only complaint i have about the watch), but with some time tracking apps I've gotten it to the exact second for every day going on 3 weeks now. The watch is very comfortable to wear all day after the proper adjustments. At first I had trouble with it, but I was trying to figure out the band sizing to my personal liking. For the price of this watch i have no complaints whatsoever ever. The automatic movement of the watch is nice never having to worry about batteries or charging a watch, or winding it everyday (but you can still wind the watch if you wanted. And I'd recommend it right out of the box before wearing to get a good "charge" out of the watch before setting it) the dual language English and Spanish date indicators had me confused at first but after actually reading the instructions I figured out the proper way of setting the watch to only English (for a few minutes at night it will be in Spanish as it's switching over the day) the glow on the hands and hour markers are very bright and easy to read in low light settings aswell as it is an easy watch to read all together. I love how the watch does so little but so much at the same time. The water resistance hasn't be tested much by me, only while washing my hands, but if the crown is fully screwed in I have no worries about water damage. I would highly recommend this watch for anyone looking for a nice looking, and durable mechanical time piece for daily usage. Outstanding job Orient, you knocked it out or the park with this watch! PS- when storing the watch overnight, keep the crown stright up in the air, this is the best resting position for the internals as well as where Orient keeps the balance of the watch to keep proper time while being stores.

The Red Barracuda
Beautiful watch. Not the best at keeping time as it does gain a few seconds a day but it's a small gripe for a in house made movement at this price point. The bad is prone to scratches and scuffs, my wooden desk has scuffed it but to me personally that's just normal wear and tear. The dial is beautiful, micro adjustors made for a perfect fit and the quality and scratch resistance of the glass is on par with what you'd expect from Orient. After months not a smudge on the glass. 10/10 watch.

Excellent watch, strap dependent
I've owned this watch for a few years now. It's one of my favorites in my collection (I'm a watch guy, my collection is 40 deep). Everyone else can tell you all about the specs that make it top quality, and they have. Orient will even tell you about the specs that make it top quality. That's all in the ad. So I won't waste your time by adding to that. What I will add is that this watch is extremely strap dependent. It sat in my watch box for about 2 years, and I only wore it rarely. It just never caught my eye on any given day and said "I'm your watch for today." But then I bought a strap for a different watch, that did not work on the other watch the way I thought it would, when it arrived. I held the strap in my hand, I started looking around my watch box to see if there was anything else that called for the strap. The Kamasu jumped out at me. It was a perfect pairing! Ditch the steel strap that it comes on. Ditch the NATO strap that you were thinking about putting on it. Ditch the black sail cloth strap that I had on mine for 2 years that caused it to never get worn. Get yourself a leather, "wine" colored strap, with white stitching. I'm telling you, once you put that on this watch, everyday you'll have to convince yourself to wear something else from your collection. It just needed this strap, now it's the perfect watch.

Great watch. Just read the reviews. Great color-way and punches way above its price.

Classy budget dive watch
I am writing this review for the Kamasu itself, but also for my experience with my first mechanical watch, as I imagine it will be for many people who buy this watch. I think the watch looks great; the dial, hands, crown, and wristband are all stylish yet understated, which is a quality I think a lot of men look for when buying jewelry. It has its own style to it, and it adequately differentiates itself from a lot of the Rolex clones you see. I especially like the red dial on my version. At first glance looking at pictures of it online, it may seem a bit loud, ostentatious or difficult to work into the rest of your wardrobe, but the hue of red is much closer to a subtle burgundy with only a dull shine in real life (which I like). It is also nicely textured if you look at it closely. My only aesthetic criticism is with the bezel. It is ribbed along the rim which catches the light and makes it look a little frillier and fancier than I think it needs to. As for the mechanical aspect of the watch, for me, it is a bit of a mixed bag. I really like the fact that there are no batteries or tiny electric motors, and that the watch runs simply on stored potential energy released carefully through mechanical advantage. It also winds itself if you wear it every day, which is very convenient. I also like the weight of it. It has a satisfying heft to it unlike many quartz watches, but I will say it’s weight does make it hard to forget that it is there. Functionally, it is also not perfect. I am perfectly aware that accuracy is not a strong suit of mechanical watches, but mine gains about 10 seconds a day. This is well within the margin of error advertised for this watch, but I do enjoy my watch ticking over to the next minute at the exact time it is supposed to (like a nice quartz or digital watch). If I wanted that with this watch, I would have to set it every day, and it runs a minute fast for every six days I do not reset the time. I do really like the day-date feature, but I will say I had some trouble getting it to work correctly, although I honestly chock that up to my own ignorance and impatience. The rotating bezel is also cool if you need a quick stopwatch or timer, but, again, I could do without it if it meant the bezel was smooth (it's ribbed so that you can grip it). I haven’t exactly tested its waterproof capabilities besides washing my hands while wearing it, but honestly, I don’t really think I would want to. The crown screws down into place against rubber gaskets that seal the inside, but it doesn’t really seem worth it to me to risk if, for instance, I didn’t screw the crown down all the way. The luminescence on the hands and hour marks is cool, but the glow fades quickly once it’s been in the dark for a bit. All things considered, I am very happy with my purchase. I would definitely recommend this one over the Orient Kanno, as that one is a little too big for my wrist (I would say I am a very medium sized man), and it has a mineral crystal instead of sapphire, like this one.

The better skx alternative by Orient
I’ve seen countless reviews praising this watch for offering such value at 200 dollar price range. For 200 dollars, the Orient Kamasu offers sapphire crystal, a unidirectional 120 click bezel, 200 meters of water resistant, an in-house movement (F6922 with stated accuracy tolerance of -15 to +25. Way better than seiko’s NH35’s -35 to +45), and a stunning sunburst dial. This watch is absolutely stunning in person once you get to see the dial in natural sunlight. The lume on this watch is great and compared to many budget alternatives around the same price point, you can’t beat it. As I noted earlier, the movement inside is good for the price point. It’s certainly not COSC certified but it runs better than the generic NH35s on the market. My watch clocked in at around +10s a day which isn’t bad. The bracelet included is okay but it’s not impressive as it contains hollow end links and pressed clasp. It’s not a deal breaker but I’d recommend upgrading it with strapcode’s super J bracelet. It really improves the watch and complements it. One downside to the Kamasu has to be crown. For some reason, Orient thought it’d be a good idea to make the crown small and enclose it around crown guards which in reality make using the crown a bit difficult. Overall, Orient is offering the quality of what seiko used to offer but with better improvements (sapphire crystal and better movement).

Sapphire crystal, good accuracy and looks
I'm in the UK and the watch was sent from Amazon USA in just six days, and for us this red dial version is not available from many places. For my 7" inch wrist I needed to remove 2 links. The bracelet uses cotter pins, and I replaced the existing pins with new ones when I resized it. The dial is amazing in sunlight, and I'm getting good accuracy from it at roughly plus seven seconds per day. The lume shot is how it looks when you come indoors on a sunny day.

Stunning watch
This watch is perfect for someone getting into the watch scene. Comparing it with the seiko skx, this is a good entry level price with decent specs to go with it. The fact that the watch comes with sapphire crystal along with hand winding and hacking is pretty amazing for the price that you're paying. Watch also runs within spec at +5 seconds per day and the Lume on thos watch is almost on par with seikos lumibrite.
