In addition to doing countless manual jobs, many exercise and lift weights. Why do they need more grip?That’s exactly what I thought. That was before my thumb joints, bruised and broken playing football 50 years ago, began hurting.That’s when it occurred to me that unless I’m pinching something with my thumb and forefinger, my thumbs don’t get much of a workout. Most of my grip comes from 4 fingers and the heel of my thumbs.Most people have a stronger grip in their dominate hand and the muscle in the heel of that hand is bigger.If you want a muscle to hurt, stop using it. I was injured in Vietnam and spent 3 months in a military hospital before returning to the states. The importance of physical therapy can NEVER be overrated.Keeping muscles toned and balanced is critical for staying well and strong as we age. Don’t take my word. Ask any Orthopedic surgeon or Professional Physical Therapist. Generally speaking, they will tell you that exercise is the most important thing we can do for our health and well being.After using this ACF grip for 30 days, my grip strength has quadrupled. I began with the lowest setting and have increased to the max doing 40 reps with each hand. And changing resistance is as simple as turning a knob clockwise as needed.Adding one drop of pure liquid silicone to the threaded shaft and hinges adds to the ease of adjustments and smooth, silent operation. Even at their hardest setting, they are still quite easy to squeeze together. I was expecting slightly more resistance2. These are potentially miscalibrated. I bought two of these so I could exercise both hands at the same time, and at their maximum difficulty setting, the two units do not feel the same. I had purchased it originally because from spending so much time on my computer for work each day, I had developed a trigger finger in my pinky from overuse of the mouse. I found if I stretched my finger it made it better so when I came across this hand grip exerciser I thought it may help and it definitely has.I keep it next to my computer and use throughout the day. The knob in front is very easy to turn to adjust the pressure you'd like to use. The item is not big. At it's widest at bottom of handles it is 4" and the item is about 5.5" tall. I have probably average female hands to larger than average in terms of my finger length and I find this grip diameter suits me well. I think for men who may have larger hands this would be too small to get all fingers wrapped around the inside lever where your fingers go. It is lightweight.It's really helped me quite a bit with the trigger finger and helping that get healed by stretching my fingers and building up hand strength.
