Cygolite Centauri 1700 OSP Bicycle Headlight

Really well designed and bright light. I use it with the helmet mount and it has a good spread and distance. Lots of options with brightness and flash speeds. Everything just feels solid and well made. I run the battery cable down my back into my Jersey pocket and once I found the "sweet spot" on the helmet to mount it, I pretty much forget it is there. Brightest I've had to use it was at level three. Fastest I usually get on the road is around 35MPH and no way I can "out ride" this light and not get enough warning plenty ahead of potholes and such.Edit 8/24Light still works very well. If you are mounting it on your helmet, definitely go for the middle of the helmet. There is plenty of up and down movement on the mount to allow mounting it in the center. I found mounting it towards the front of the helmet put too much weight up front causing my helmet. I had to "play" around to find just the spot (pretty much dead center of the helmet) but once found it is not noticeable pressure wise and can still be pointed at any angle needed.

I absolutely love the light. It is a well made super bright light with different modes that are perfect for day and night. I took off one star because one light stopped working after a few months of use on my road bike. I returned it for repair and it ended up being a bad solder joint - so I was told. The problem was that Cygolite never sent an email that they received my light, never sent any updates, and after almost three weeks of not hearing anything, I had to call them to get some answers. I got a sincere apology for the lack of communication and the delay in the repair but it still took a few more days to get it back - they are located 45 minutes from me. If this light wasn't so awesome, I would have taken off 2 or 3 stars for the lousy repair experience.

This is a very serious headlight, sturdy construction (clever cable feedthrough, which is usally a weak spot in other products), high usability - one selection button and an LED row that shows the selected mode, high swivel angle to tilt the light beam to the right or left for proper illumination of the path edge (where 4-legs obstacles may lurk, longevity is great, a great plus is the adjustable intensity for lower levels than max, in factory settings I found the second step a little too high and the lowest a little too low. I don't need to say that you have to be VERY careful using the highest intensity. It should only be used in "wide open spaces" - but then it is a blast. Keep in mind that this comes with higher weight and volume compared to the 600 Lm variant that I also own.

This light has opened a whole new level of fun for a man who works a lot, "Night Mt Biking"!! I had never really considered night riding as a choice, and I gotta say it is a whole new level of intensity! I have this light mounted to my handlebars and a Cygolite Expilion 850 mounted to my helmet and the two together work perfectly!!! This light also comes with the helmet mount and a longer cord so you can put the battery in your backpack. I was hesitant to spend the money for this light for a long time now I'm saddened by all the fun I could have had night riding after work!!!!

This light is quite bright, although the battery is a bid clumsy to mount. The brightness can be adjusted in steady mode from very dim to blindingly bright. I wish the brightness could also be adjusted in flash mode, but the only adjustment here is to the pattern of flashes.

It is the brightest light for a bike I have ever seen. It is as bright as the headlights of a car, may be brighter than one headlight. The dual focus, wide for near and narrow focused for distance area is fantastic. I have been using it on my bike handle bar, and have ridden on trails, it just lights up everything.Battery life - so far have not had any issues on my 1-2 hours rides, I pretty much use it at almost the full setting.It is a bit on the expensive side, but I will not be looking for an upgrade for a long time.

The TRION 1300 is a better light. The Centauri 1700 light dispersal is not as good as the TRION 1300. I prefer to have the batteries integrated with the light like the TRION 1300 rather than having it mounted to the bicycle frame with a velcro strap with cables dangling. Also the light gets extremely hot. On the plus side, the light is very bright adding to the safety and visibility of the rider.

The battery seemed to last every bit as long as spec-ed, which was great. What was less thrilling was that I just didn't feel that it lit up the road as well as my Lights and Motion Taz 1200. On the other hand, the battery on that is self-contained, so it really doesn't last long enough for my needs.I wish there were a light with optics as good as the Taz and a battery as good as this one.

Buena lampara y buena luz para los ciclistas y sobre todo que la adquiri a un buen precio, solo que si se calienta mucho, seria el unico defecto que le encuentro. Actualmente esta demasiado cara

Amazing light system, use it for late night trail rides, and it's illumination and power are beyond expectations. Build quality is superb.
