Is this an appropriate bulb as a replacement in my fish tank lighting fixture? It is for growing plants in the fish tank.

This bulb is my Ac to kill bacteria and not for fish tank, I also use it in an indoor to kill insects.

These lasted 2 months!! Horrible. Guess they don’t have warranty?

If you are replacing the fluorescent tubes in a bug zapper, which is what these replacement tubes are designed for, you generally need to remove the metal wire grids to get to the tubes. The electrified grid of wires that does the zapping will often retain a charge even when it has been turned off and unplugged. Touching the grid with your hands, etc. will then result in a shock or a spark. By using the above-mentioned metal screwdriver or scissors to ground the grid to the frame (after it has been unplugged!) you will discharge the grid and make working on it less hazardous. Based on your typing, I am guessing that you have experienced a strong shock already.

Need utralight to kill algae in my house water filter. Do they need a ballast?

These bulbs are for a bug wacher. I do not believe they are useful in killing algae.
