🔨 Chisel Your Way to Success!
The BOSCH HS1935 1 In. x 16 In. R-Tec Flat Chisel is engineered for efficiency and durability, featuring self-sharpening technology, a no-jam design, and a 15% higher removal rate than standard chisels, making it the ideal choice for professionals using SDS-max compatible demolition and rotary hammers.

Sensible Design
Arrives with a sharp beveled edge that obviously wears down. But that wear is limited by the design of the blade, which has 2 furrows running down its length. As the edge wears back, its bluntness is limited by the furrow depth. Unless you're aiming for precise, clean chiseled lines, you won't need to sharpen the edge. With a rotary hammer behind it, this chisel does just fine breaking off or breaking up chunks of 40-year old concrete. I used it to get sub-slab access in a 3-inch+ thick basement floor after I drilled an outline of 1-inch holes around each desired opening. I broke out the web between each hole with this chisel and pulled out the section. It was reasonably fast and using a shop vac during the process easily controlled the dust.

Name Brand but Generic Performance
I had the pleasure of breaking apart tile floor, concrete and cement steps, walkways and slab using my SDS Max and a light weight jack hammer during the last month. The Bosch R-Tec appears to be little better than the Monkey King bits I reviewed earlier. In fact, the performance differences are so minuscule that I can't feel the differnce in either bit and have no real preference. The vibration is about the same and not sure how it self sharpens because the Monkey King actually appears to keep its edge better but the extra length does comes in handy when removing tile (little bit more reach). In terms of appearance, the finish was nicer but it got spots of rust a lot faster than the Monkey King.Would I buy again? Yes, price was in the ballpark and it still did the job though not really any better than uts generuc counterpart.

Durable
This Bosch flat chisel bit has stayed sharp on it's own ! I have been using it for removing the old mortar on my basement wall, before tuckpointing. This bit works great ! It's strong, and just keeps going !

Works good. But the product details are incorrect on the dimensions. It says 19" overall length but its total length is 16". So the bit that is outside of the sds max drill is 13 1/2". kind of a big deal when your drilling and chipping through 14" of concrete.

Self sharpening? Not seeing evidence of self sharping. It does pound through rock and concrete fine. I have gotten it stuck in concrete while demolishing. I avoid going too deep with it.

Makes short work of concrete after drilling.
Bosch quality, received it very quickly and at a great price! Good design as the extra flutes helps to prevent jamming ( buy two, as invariably, you WILL get it stuck and you don't want to use your expensive drill bits to get it back out [I chipped by Bosch SDS MAX 1 1/4 doing so]) .I have a Bosch 850 drill which works pretty well with this chisel.
